Many people ask why we chose the name Finch Media for our public relations agency. The reason is that while finches might be small and unassuming they are mighty. Finches have beautiful and often elaborate songs that they share as a way to tell each other stories. Finches are also adaptable which is why Charles Darwin studies them to develop his theory of evolution.
Our agency may be small but we are skilled communicators and story-tellers and highly adaptable able to pivot quickly and effectively to serve our clients needs.
Passionate about the arts and community in 2018 Finch Media created the Finch Media Creates grant that supports emerging artists and creators from BIPOC communities. In 2019 the grant supported the Scarborough Episodic Directing Program which has the mandate of providing paid shadowing opportunities for two Black Indigenous and people of colour (BIPOC) directors on the critically-acclaimed CBC show In the Making. In 2020 the grant is supporting a COVID-19 relief fund for BIPOC artists based in BC.
At Finch Media PR firm we are committed to giving back to the community we call home. We proudly support community initiatives that champion youth women and the arts such as:
