Plank is an award-winning digital design studio making the web a better place since 1998. We specialize in building websites and mobile applications for Arts amp; Culture Non-Profits Higher Education and Sports amp; Health.

Warren co-founded Plank in 1998 with his personal savings and a dream to make the internet a beautiful place. He seeks out projects that respond to his passion for design and curiosity for culture and history. His high standards and ability to create and maintain strong client relationships are the foundation of the companys success.
Warren strives to bring interesting meaningful work to his team and to set a vision of producing quality work in a supportive cooperative environment. His non-hierarchical leadership style stems from his summer camp days and he does his best to make sure Plank is a great place to work.
Warren is at once proud and humbled to have worked with a number of prominent clients who also happen to be people he admires. He counts Michael Moore Rush and Canadas Governor General as some of the highlights in Planks history.
Warren is constantly learning. He is an avid reader and attends numerous conferences each year. He writes about his values and what hes learned on Medium and Planks Journal.
Warren is a passionate baseball fan and founded the Montreal chapter of Baseball Hack Day. He holds on to the hope that his beloved Expos will someday return to Montreal.

Steve was Planks very first employee and hes contributed greatly to the successful evolution of the company. With a fine arts background he joined the team in 1999 as lead designer and helped establish Planks reputation for creating beautiful high-caliber work.
Steve has a broad understanding of web development and has worked in nearly every role in the company. This understanding coupled with his leadership ability and attention to detail made him the natural choice to serve as Managing Director as Plank grew. His unwavering commitment to the company and the team led him to become a partner in 2016. He uses his experience to support the team in finding elegant solutions to all our technological challenges while keeping creativity and user experience at the forefront.
Steve loves the internet and is fascinated by how it continually shapes our world. He is motivated to solve interesting problems and helping to advance the web in small and meaningful ways. He cultivates community as co-founder and former host of CreativeMornings/Montreal and as a current member of a regular MTL Agency Operations meetup.
Steve loves getting outside with his family as much as possible runs a mean Damp;D game and can proudly say he can still do a kick-flip on his skateboard.

Lisa has been keeping offices and their books in top shape for the past 18 years. She joined the Plank team in 2015 and has been working wonders ever since. Shes modernised our accounting workflow moved us closer to a paperless office and brought increased oversight to our financial health. Shes also ordered approximately 10000 cans of club soda…and counting.
Through her career shes had the chance to work in a wide range of industries and got her start working for iconic shoe company Dr. Martens (she still misses the free shoes). Lisa loves to spend time with her family unless theyre heading for the ski hill… she prefers the beach.

Jason joined the Plank team in 2015 bringing with him over a decade of experience overseeing production in print publishing and mobile applications. His work in mobile began before the iPhone existed and includes products for brands like Adidas Marvel NHL NBA and NFL.
As a project manager Jason merges his technical knowledge and problem solving skills to translate clients needs into quality digital products and to chart a smooth workflow for Planks developers. He prides himself on empowering the team to do the best work they are capable of while nurturing solid relationships with clients.
Jason hails from Saskatchewan so the Montreal winters dont phase him a bit. He holds degrees in Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and in History from the University of Calgary. After moving to Montreal in 2004 he also took courses in Internet Business Technology from McGill.
Jasons latest and greatest challenge has been managing the needs and demands of a very different sort of ’client’ – his twins born in 2016. When he does manage to find a spare moment he tries his best to spend it cycling around the island.

Annika joined Plank in 2019 bringing with her more than ten years of experience in Project Management both in the UK and in Montreal. In her career she has worked in mobile media and music and has coordinated complex international projects with multiple stakeholders across the digital and branding space.
Annika is warm and charming and clients benefit from her easy manner and strong work ethic. She is a natural leader and enjoys the process of working with clients as much as she does her own team.
Eternally curious she spends her free time being creative on multiple platforms; she knits makes jewellery and enjoys sculpting. She is also an expert at making GIFs and never misses an opportunity to make people laugh. Her humour is a welcome addition to the Plank Team.
Speeding down the Lachine Canal Annika enjoys being on her single speed bike (summertime only!). She also enjoys a night at the pub (she is British after all.)

Kayla arrived at Plank in March 2019 and already says it feels like home. She brings a strong work ethic and a background in Telecom (from customer service to project coordination). Pushing her boundaries and her intuition Kayla became enamoured with the world of tech. She says project management allows her to use her problem solving skills as well as her analytical brain.
Kayla is positive and friendly which makes her a natural when dealing with clients. She addresses concerns and handles anything that surfaces in a calm and reassuring way.
Currently working toward a Business Analyst Certification at McGill University Kayla believes what shes now learning pairs well with her love of managing projects. She especially enjoys seeing a project through with clients from the very first phone call to the moment a site goes live.
Kayla is also a committed athlete a soccer player until College she now lifts weights and enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities. She particularly loves running in nature with her 2-year-old Boston terrier Bernard who has become an official Plank team member.
Art amp; Creative Director

Jennifer began her career as an integrator with Plank in the relatively new field of web design in 2000. With a background in Fine Arts she took to integration like a moth to a flame and was soon winning awards with her innovative work.
After a stint teaching in Southeast Asia Jennifer returned to the fold. She caught up on her HTML and CSS and worked as a front-end developer eventually moving to design. She assumed the role of Creative Director in 2014 and continues to set high standards for our mission of making the online world a more beautiful place. She is always looking deeper and seeking to improve the user experience creating work that Plank and our clients can feel proud of.
Jennifer loves Montreal but dreams of the mountains and hot springs of Taiwan and still wonders what those kids are up to. In nice weather she can be spotted zipping through the streets of Montreal dodging the ubiquitous construction cones on her 2016 Honda Giorno scooter.

Veronique joined Plank in 2017 after freelancing in Web and Graphic design for almost a decade. She started as a print designer with a strong interest in typography and layout design. Her passion for design quickly grew to include web with its endless possibility and potential to reach millions.
Veronique lives by the mantra of ’less is more’ embracing a minimalist approach to communicate a message clearly and cleanly. She brings a positive attitude to every assignment. Its because she loves what she does and relishes the challenges that push her further.
Veronique loves Star Wars and Doctor Who anything and everything British and reading and collecting books – shes especially fond of the Penguin English Library covers. She confesses shes secretly 93 years old at heart and enjoys knitting baking and relaxing at home.

Jerome joined Planks Front-end team in 2016. With a background in photography and graphic design he approaches integration with a designers eye adeptly interpreting the vision for interaction.
Jerome stokes his creative fire with constant experimentation and learning. He follows every new development in technology and has most recently been toying with the mechanics of Virtual and Augmented Reality.
In 2013 Jerome took a great leap across the pond to Montreal from Brussels a journey hes not regretted. Hes embraced the citys music scene which he washes down with a fine craft beer.

Megan joined the team in 2018 and combines a critical eye with a creative drive. Her education and experience as a Biologist in British Columbia gave her a love for research while her work in fashion sharpened her design sensibilities and deepened her appreciation for quality.
She cut her teeth in development as the co-founder of a start-up embracing the process of creating something from nothing and learning a lot about tenacity and grit along the way. Now as a developer she is merging her love of design and creation with her problem-solving scientific background. She lives for the details and appreciates that sometimes its the littlest things that bring it all together.
When not in the city Megan can be found climbing mountains or diving into remote lakes at midnight.

Olivier comes to Plank with a degree in fine arts as well as success in web development bootcamp. Hes also working toward finishing a degree in graphic design. What a combination! What he loves about UI/UX design is the creativity combined with the problem solving. His goal is always to be as creative and original as possible while still ensuring functionality function over form is his mantra. While he grew up in Quebec City he loves Montreal. Fun fact about Olivier: he worked as a chef for two years which means hell fit in well with a bunch of foodies.

Massimo came to Plank in 2017 as an intern from the Vanier Computer Science Technology program. We were more than pleased to keep him on the back-end team as he continues his studies at Concordia University. Massimo brings a diverse set of creative and technical skills to the team along with an immense willingness to learn.
Massimo is a maker at heart and has tinkered with electronics and robotics. He spent several years participating and volunteering with the Canada Robotics Competition. He also has a great interest in creating art in a digital medium working mainly in videography visual effects and occasionally photography.
Massimo has been playing guitar for 13 years and has a Rick and Morty quote for every occasion.

Andrew is a software engineering student at Concordia University. He comes to Plank with significant experience as a full stack developer and DevOps engineer. Andrew says he truly enjoys taking part in the entire life cycle of a project from inception to the moment of launch. He loves it all: requirements design infrastructure and deployment.
Andrew is not just flexible in his work skills but as a gymnastics loving child he watched a lot of Kung Fu movies. Combining those passions he now does stunt work for films (fights acrobatics and choreography) while also dabbling in the video production side of things. No wonder hes joined our Plank yoga group!
Andrew loves to learn and thats part of why we know he will be a great fit here at Plank. If he also enjoys teaching a little fight choreography sequence might be a well attended class on a Friday afternoon!

Christina joined Plank in 2017 making the switch from design to coding after working as a designer and illustrator for ten years. Her BFA in Design pairs nicely with her diploma in Pure and Applied Science giving her a broad base to draw on as she enthusiastically expands her skill set.
As a graphic and web designer Christina worked with various companies to create apparel graphics logos and websites. She has worked closely with the Montreal theatre community designing show posters for various production companies. Her designs have even won a few Montreal Fringe Festival Frankie Awards.
Christina is also a talented cosplayer and has designed and constructed numerous costumes based on her favourite characters including Mantis Princess Mononoke and Mallory Archer.

Dave joined Plank in 2018 bringing his WordPress expertise to the backend team. He studied computer science and education at Queens University and book design at — appropriately — the University of Reading. As a freelancer hes built sites for friends businesses large and small media and higher education.
An eternally curious soul Dave loves learning new things especially when it comes to technology design and typography. He blogs about food coffee music programming and books and enjoys running hiking travelling and listening to records to relax.

Evan is Planks newest team member. Currently studying software engineering at Concordia University he has a love of back-end development. Evan says it comes from enjoying the sweet spot between front-end design and more object oriented coding. Evan enjoys taking on a task from start to finish and takes pride in a job well done.
He is not discerning when it comes to video games he loves them all. From the classics to the most modern Evan wont hesitate to jump in. And this is a fun tidbit: Disney movies Evan can quote almost any one.
Evan believes Planks fun loving and thoughtful team is a perfect fit for him. And while a little on the quiet side once hes comfortable Evan is convinced hell become the loudest person in the room. Bring it on!

Jose joins Plank with strong Laravel skills. He dives into back-end coding and does what all developers do solve problems complicated ones. In fact its what he loves about his job. His degree in Computer Science set his skills in motion but he has other passions and a few are adventurous: namely rock climbing and skateboarding. Hes also a tabletop gamer and a card shark! Jose grew up in northern Mexico but now lives in Montreal. Hes friendly quiet and has a gentle nature. Jose is among the parents on the Plank team he has a lovely little girl.

At three years old Bernard is Planks youngest team member. Hes also the cutest that face! The laziest he pretty much sleeps all day. The hungriest anything that falls from the kitchen counter is fair game. And the most playful anyone with a ball gets his full attention. Bernard is a Boston Terrier and does some pretty sweet tricks for treats. He also does a mean imitation of Yoda. His mommy is Plank Project Manager Kayla Keizer who he clearly loves even more than his favourite toy.
