Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the IT labors director for a non-profit structure that helps children and young nation with serious disabilities.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Ballard Chalmers?
I needed help on a little SharePoint project for the structure’s intranet.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were responsible for?
While initially hired to work on the intranet, the aim expanded to a bigger project. They developed a cloud-based SharePoint gate for the structure’s governors and trustees, which will allow secure sharing of documents online.
The gate simplifies document treatment and workflow approvals. The team created a component that allows a user to click a button when a document needs to be approved. The method sends a notice to the governors’ clerk, who can make changes to the document or welcome all the edits.
A separate workflow automatically transfers the document to the approved document library that is perceptible to end users.
How did you come to work with Ballard Chalmers?
I was searching for a local organisation. I also spoke to an structure that used them in the past. I met with them, and reflection that they were a good fit.
What are you approach expents (if diclosed)?
We’ve spent almost £5,500 [$7,300].
What is the terminal result of working with ?
Work began in July of 2016, and is ongoing.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
While quiet in the testing stage, the gate demonstrates real time-saving benefits.
The new method is so much better than what we were doing in the past. We were sending a big quantity of documents through the mail, and now the governors and trustees can approach them remotely and securely online.
Previously the clerk had to copy and paste each document to a shared drive, and also send them via email. The new workflow approval simplified the process from 10 steps to two.
How did Ballard Chalmers accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
They were big, frequently going over and over the required elements to prepare excellent labor. They interacted see step of the process, providing up-to-date information so that I didn’t have to chase them down.
One time I was unable to get hold of the the developer, who was on holiday. We chose to wait for him to get back rather than attribute a new individual to the project.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?
They’ve done a big job explaining seething to me, in a technical way and not as a sales throw. The team demonstrated how to most effectively use SharePoint for the structure, including what tools can be changed and manipulated to best suit the gate.
I was also impressed with their can-do posture, and how they approached the challenge of making the project work within a non-profit budget.
