Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
K+K Streetfood is a Sri Lankan street food restaurant. We propose genuine flavors from Sri Lanka, where the two other founders and I are from.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with The Yard Creative?
We went to The Yard Creative to create an affable Sri Lankan street food brand. There was nothing like that in the UK, where there were mainly nice, high-end restaurants. The team also designed our kiosk.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were The Yard Creative responsible for?
The Yard Creative has proposeed end-to-end services, from creating the brand and tone, to all picturesque and asset creation, to the last store design. They also served as the design process director behind we contracted with a createer for the kiosk.
Recently, we’ve also been working with them on collective strategy. Following the propel of our store, we wanted to gain more traction. After discussing our goals with The Yard Creative, they produced a complete strategy for us to position our brand in the collective globe.
We’ve been continuously working with them on our brand story and values, along with the store design itself, the retail liberatey process, and the design treatment aspects.
Was there a dedicated team?
We’ve had three main points of touch. We worked with Laurence (Director of Interiors) on the initial concept and inside. We then worked with an inside design expert, and with a picturesques and concept expert, who made all the picturesque illustrations for the concept, and lastly the complete store layout.
How did you come to work with The Yard Creative?
The Yard Creative was recommended to us by the mall we built our kiosk in, along with a few other activity experts, but they stuck out. It was an easy choice to keep working with them for the rebranding project.
What are you approach expents (if diclosed)?
We’ve spent between $10,000–$25,000 on the collaboration.
What is the terminal result of working with The Yard Creative?
We began working with The Yard Creative in August 2019. Though our kiosk has opened, our engagement with them is ongoing.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
Our experience edifice the kiosk was fantastic. The Yard Creative understood our vision of making Sri Lankan food and our childhood memories affable to everyone, and they executed it very well. We’ve gotten big feedback from our clients, which is one of the reasons we trusted them moving into our next project.
Additionally, we were recently reviewed by a food judge who praised our inside and named ours one of the best restaurant openings since 2016. Our space was referred to as a masterclass in positioning and branding. We attribute the praise to The Yard Creative’s work and support in the create and design treatment process.
We frequently see clients taking pictures when they come in, and there’s a lot of interest in who designed the space. The visual contact is excellently high.
How did The Yard Creative accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
The Yard Creative proposes transmitted project treatment, but we chose to use their services for “design treatment,” where the centre is on the natural implementation matching the creative output. That meant they were in direct of choosing materials and managing the furnish chain.
Given the results, we have no complaints. When we assimilate the store now next to the initial concept, we can’t even tell the separation between the two.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with The Yard Creative?
Though they’re not Sri Lankan themselves, they did an excellent job of knowledge our motivations and implementing them visually. Sri Lankan food isn’t very well-known assimilated to other cuisines, but The Yard Creative was able to adjoin our brief and liberate it in an affable way. When they presented their liberateables, we had no amendments. Their level of engagement was excellently particular. Even today, their branding materials quiet resonate with me.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
From what we programned to what was implemented, I wouldn’t say there’s anything in particular that could’ve been changed. The create process ran for three weeks, and we didn’t find any major issues. We implemented it as-is, and we’re pretty lucky with the end result.
Do you have any advice for forthcoming clients of theirs?
It’s significant to have a clear brief. We wrote a page on our brand goals, and what the project meant to us, which was one of the key things that helped them apprehend us. They’re open to any judgeism, and they want to get the best out of us, so it’s best to collaborate during those creative sessions, rather than effective them what to do.
