OTEGLOBE: A member of the COSMOTE Group, responsible for the international network and infrastructure connections of all COSMOTE Group companies.
NEED: Business application to model, manage and monitor their network’s assets and services.
APPROACH: We created a structured and modular set of building blocks, using the entities of simple and complex elements, which
were combined to form network structures supporting OTEGLOBE’s services.SOLUTION: EXIS designed and developed a Network Inventory Management System that was able to (a) model literally any type of network equipment structuring complex elements, as well as the services consuming those complex elements, (b) monitor their status and (c) support first level fault management.
OUTCOME &, BENEFIT: OTEGLOBE moved from a file-based, user-related approach that required high maintenance effort, to a central-based and managed solution.
Most significant benefits had to do with the client’s ability to gain a view of the big picture related to service-network element correlations, as well as the fact that the client was now able to take proactive action, since users were alerted on equipment maintenance needs or expiry of guarantees, based on predefined thresholds. Thus, higher quality of overall service and reduction of network fault incidents were achieved.
