Mobile Application Development for e-Commerce Marketplace
Please find below a summary covering project details and feedback. The innate facts are kept as they are, private information is amended.
Introductory information
Please prepare a description of your organisation.
We run a B2B [business-to-business] e-Commerce website where we facilitate bidding on different products and services. Our website has all from raw materials like paper and steel to business services. Sellers come to our website to auction their services, and buyers bid over each other to win the best deals. We have the largest market share of all correspondent websites.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I work in our IT [information technology] section as the mobile app director.
Desired goal
What was your goal for working with Redmadrobot?
We wanted an app that would take our marketplace to the mobile globe, on both Android and iOS platforms.
Provided solution
Please draw the aim of their work.
They borrowed heavily from our website when developing the back-end, but overall Redmadrobot was responsible for all. The design was theirs, API [application program interface], and the iOS and Android outgrowth.
What was your process for selecting Redmadrobot with which to work?
The investigation was pretty single at leading. I talked to friends in the activity, and did investigation on Google. I made a brief list of companies that interested us, and it was without clear that Redmadrobot was the best organisation on our list. We were very interested in working with them but, originally, we worried that we might not be able to produce it. When we met with them, however, they were very interested in our project, and we were able to come to an contract fast.
Can you prepare a ballpark dollar aspect for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
In total, the project was probably a pliant below $100,000.
Results achieved
What were the results of the project?
The relationship began in February 2014 and is ongoing.
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track advancement from the project?
The iOS app was launched on September 13th and we have 4,500 downloads. The app is only useful to our clients, of which there are almost 50,000. The percentage of clients who have downloaded our app is almost what we expected. We haven’t released the Android rendering yet as it’s quiet being tested [January 2015].
Is there anything sole almost them that veritably makes them rest out, compared to other companies?
Their design expertise is phenomenal, and it was one of the main reasons we chose them. We had to project a professional picture for our organisation, and their design of the application veritably helped in that. They’re reliable. If they say they’ll do something in a given time frame, they always do it.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you ponder they could better upon or something that you might do differently?
We had to handle our expectations when it comes to how long it takes to do something. I’m not sure we always take priority owing of the projects they do for larger clients.
