Ralph joined Bsquare in March 2019 as president CEO and board member. Ralph is a highly accomplished business leader with a wide range of experience using technology to create innovative products services and business models. Prior to joining Bsquare Ralph was president and CEO of Carena a pioneer in the development of virtual health care delivery until its acquisition by Avizia in 2017. Ralph served as SVP of Corporate Development until Avizias acquisition by American Well in July 2018. Prior to Carena Ralph was managing director of venture investments at Vulcan Capital where he was actively involved in the investment growth and operations of the firms technology portfolio companies. Ralph has served for 15 years on the board of Perficient (PRFT) an IT services firm with expertise in e-commerce digital transformation. Ralph has senior leadership experience at Metricom Starwave Corporation (acquired by Walt Disney) and NeXT Computer (acquired by Apple Computer). He began his career as a software engineer at Digital Research and Sun Microsystems.
Ralph serves on the deans advisory board of the Golisano College of Computing amp; Information Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a BT in Systems Software. He also serves on the advisory board for the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship in the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
Chris possesses a breadth of financial operational and general management experience spanning more than 25 years across highly diverse endeavors. He has led management teams through times of rapid growth and during periods of significant change. Operating at the intersection of financial discipline and entrepreneurial optimism Chris has served on the executive teams of EnerG2 (now a subsidiary of BASF) Pacific Science Center in Seattle and Loudcloud Inc the first cloud computing company. Chris received a BA from Northwestern University in Chicago and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Steven oversees corporate affairs for Bsquare. Over the course of his career Steven has worked with a broad and diverse set of leaders and organizations from Fortune 500 company heads to founders of emerging technologies companies across the fields of science energy health care higher education finance art and culture finance government professional sports and global health.
Earlier in his career he held various positions at the Anti-Defamation League in Denver and San Diego where he oversaw regional civil rights initiatives and managed public opinion on a variety of First Amendment issues.
Steven graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with Highest Honors. His paper about the American Press during the Holocaust resides at the United States Holocaust Museum and Archives in Washington DC.
Matthew oversees engineering at Bsquare. Prior to joining Bsquare Matthew was Engineering Manager at MPC Data Inc in Redmond WA and worked for many years at MPC Data Limited in the UK most recently as a Principal Software Engineer.
Now based in the UK again he has extensive experience gained over more than 20 years of building software teams and creating embedded software and cloud systems. Matthew has developed systems across many industries and technologies including manufacturing and industrial cutting-edge consumer electronics and automotive. Matthew has a BSc in Computing and Real-Time Computer Systems from the University of Gloucestershire.
Lisa is an experienced sales operations manager who specializes in process improvement and driving customer satisfaction. Prior to Bsquare Lisa worked with sales teams at Honeywell and brings over 20 years of understanding and support of sales and marketing functions spanning numerous industries. Throughout her career Lisa has implemented and managed several CRM tools including Siebel Microsoft CRM Dynamics and Salesforce to help drive productivity and improve visibility to key business metrics.
Rik oversees the delivery of projects worldwide working closely with technical project managers to ensure our customers receive the best possible experience working with Bsquare.
With the support of a quality manager Rik helps to develop and apply well-defined processes and standards ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.
Rik has almost 20 years of experience in the software industry in software development and management roles. His technical experience and background give him the intrinsic knowledge of what it takes for projects to be successful. He has supported the delivery of hundreds of projects across a large number of customers ranging from individual short-term consultancy to significant teams of ongoing engineering engagement.
Rik graduated with a BSc in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Bath which included an internship at MPC Data Limited later incorporated into Bsquare.
Rebecca brings two decades of digital marketing and editorial experience to Bsquare in topics ranging from hybrid cloud servers to PC cleanup utilities to Japanese home cooking. Before Bsquare she served as Director of Marketing for Digital Products at Providence St. Joseph Health as well as roles at VMware Microsoft and Amazon.com. Rebecca holds masters degrees in Library amp; Information Science and Italian Literature from the University of Washington.
Cheryl earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting at Texas State University and holds an active CPA license. She brings to Bsquare a breadth of experience having worked at Ernst amp; Young Nordstrom Two Degrees and within the non-profit sector. At work Cheryl enjoys translating accounting data into actionable insight and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband two children and three cats. Cheryl also serves as the volunteer Board Treasurer for Seattle Insight Meditation Society.
Andrew Harries has been a director since November 2012 and has served as the Chairman of the Board since July 2013. He was a co-founder of Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR) a NASDAQ-listed wireless IoT systems vendor where he served as Sierras Senior Vice President of Sales Marketing and Operations. During his 11 years at Sierra Wireless the company grew from inception through IPO to over $200m in annual revenues. Subsequently Andrew co-founded Zeugma Systems Inc. where he served as the CEO from 2004 until its acquisition by Tellabs Inc. in 2010. He also chaired the board at Contractually an enterprise SaaS contract management company until its acquisition by Coupa Software in December 2015.
Andrew is currently the Tom Foord Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Simon Fraser Universitys Beedie School of Business and is an advisor to several private companies. He holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University.
Robert Chamberlain has been a Director since August 2015 and serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee. In October 2018 Mr. Chamberlain was named Chief Financial Officer of ZipWhip a Seattle-based two-way business texting software company. Prior to this he served as the CFO for Big Fish Games Incorporated a leading provider of casual games from 2014 to present. From 2013 to 2014 Robert served as the Senior Vice President and CFO for Audience Science Incorporated a leading provider of Enterprise Advertising Management Systems. Prior to serving in that capacity he was Senior Vice President and CFO of PopCap Games Incorporated another provider of casual gaming from 2009 to 2011. Robert served as CFO for WatchGuard Technologies Incorporated a private global provider of firewall and UTM appliances from 2006 to 2009. He has a BS in Business Administration-Accounting from California State University Northridge.
Davin Cushman has been a Director since November 2018. He is currently the CEO of Ignite Technologies and its affiliates a set of enterprise software and services companies operating under the private ownership of ESW Capital. Davin is also the founder and President of Cushman Management Company a boutique strategy consulting firm delivering executive committee and Board of Director level recommendations for the long-term profitable operation of enterprise software companies.
Prior to taking these roles in 2010 Davin held operations analysis roles with Capital One Financial Corporation as well as leadership positions with enterprise software company Trilogy and its spin-off pcOrder.com. He earned an AB in Politics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management Northwestern University.

Mary Jesse has been a Director since August 2016. Mary is a technology executive strategist inventor and pioneer in the wireless industry. She is currently the CEO of MTI. Her past roles include senior director at Alvarez amp; Marsal managing director of Hexagon Blue LLC Chief Strategy Officer for VRstudios founder and CEO of Ivycorp co-founder and CTO of RadioFrame Networks VP of Strategic Technology for McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. and VP of Technology Development for ATamp;T Wireless.
Mary frequently speaks and writes on technology diversity business and entrepreneurship. She currently serves on the business council for Western Governors University and has served on boards for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce University of Washington Bothell school of STEM Northwest Entrepreneur Network and Washington State University Electrical Engineering Department. She is a registered professional electrical engineer and is listed as inventor on 19 technology patents.
Rob Peters has been a Director since August 2018 and a Principal of Palogic Value Management LP since co-founding the firm in January 2007. He serves as a portfolio manager with broad investment experience focused primarily on analyzing small and micro-cap equity securities. Rob began his career at Stephens Inc. as an investment banker responsible for the execution of various corporate finance transactions primarily mergers and acquisitions. He received a Master of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
Ryan Vardeman has been a director since June 2018. He is the principal and co-founder of Palogic Value Management LP. He has extensive corporate strategy operating financial and investment experience – the last of which includes analyzing all parts of the capital structure including a focus on small-cap equities and investing in a broad range of industries with an emphasis on technology and software companies. Ryan earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management Vanderbilt University.
