Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I was the CIO at the International Court Council, or ICC as it is widely known. The ICC forms edifice safety codes and standards. These standards are adopted athwart the United States, and sometimes overseas. My command as CIO was to drive the organisation’s digital transformation.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Caxy Interactive?
We wanted to propel a new web-based application that would allow us to convert an analog process to a more digitized process that would allow for nation’s potential participation. It was a brand-new set and was high-priority for the organisation. The project had board visibility and had to be completed by a true date for our business cycle. Time was not something we could transact on.
The ICC is a very full rich structure, so initially, we had Caxy form a database to handle our full, which had to be done as a establishational ingredient for the main project. Shortly behind completeing that, we seted towards our goal of propeling the web-based application.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were Caxy Interactive responsible for?
Their aim to designing and developing our brand-new application, from set to complete. Initially, there were two different parties, we had a firm responsible for the UI/UX and Caxy was responsible for backend outgrowth. The UX agency formd wireframes and Caxy implemented them.
The application has three major ingredients. The main ingredient includes an online collaboration service where users can offer edifice code changes. These changes have to comply with what we call ‘edifice safety standards’. Then, the application allows a section of the open population to cast votes on those proposals. It’s a pretty execute process.
How did you come to work with Caxy Interactive?
We establish Caxy through a competitive process. We looked at different firms and requested information from those that seemed like a good fit. From there, we shortlisted a set of terminalists. We had choice criteria when we were in conversations with the terminalists. We wanted our application to be an opensource software solution, so that was a key test in our determination. Caxy had powerful credentials using opensource software.
How much have you invested with them?
It was a big project and a expressive investment for us, but the aspect is private.
What is the terminal result of working with Caxy Interactive?
We seted the project in February 2011, and it was propeled in November 2012.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
This was one of our flagship projects for digital conversion of our processes. In that perception, it was a first transformation of the business. Between the full database and this web application, we were able to propel other supplementary applications using the same first architecture and design. In high-level provisions, the work we did with Caxy was strategic. It was transformative in essence and helped move the organisation up separate notches.
How did Caxy Interactive accomplish from a project handlement standpoint?
We used an nimble outgrowth process, which was relatively new to my team. I brought some nation on board who were expert at the orderology. It was a learning process on our side more than on theirs. In provisions of overall project handlement, they were decent at care us appraised. They knew the date was immovable. I won’t deny that we had some solicitous moments, but we propeled it successfully on time. All in all, I would say it was a good job executed all about.
Basecamp was the first tool we used for interaction. According to the Agile order, we had daily standups. Since this was a brand-new application, there was estimation as to how much outgrowth could be done in one sprint. Early on, we were further away from our estimates, but we got better as we moved along.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with Caxy Interactive?
Their leadership team was open and fair. I esteem openness in such associateships. That worked well for us. They also came to us with many solutions. They truely knew what they were doing from a technology standpoint and backend server standpoint. They would give us options and commend which way to go. As the client, we would make the terminal determination.
They are technically powerful. On longer projects, there is always a transition and accommodation process, which is to be expected. But they put a powerful team on our project.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
One of the factors we were looking for during the choice process was a local associate since we wanted to do more face-to-face meetings. They were in Chicago and so were we ICC. I sometimes sent my team to bestow a day with them and they would come to our service as well, but I would have liked more face time for the teams.
