About the name: Flying Cloud Design
Being a life-long member of Newburyport and the seacoast I wanted to pick a name the reflected the place I call home. The Flying Cloud was a clipper ship with ties to Newburyport. It was a merchant ship carrying goods from port to port. The ship was noteworthy for being fast (as a flying cloud).
About Maria Poulos
Maria is the owner of Flying Cloud Design and is a professional freelance graphic designer. She worked 30 years in the technology financial and healthcare industries. This time has been spent advancing though many changes in technology. Being an early adopter in technology most of her digital and technical skills are self-taught which led to designing for international corporations around the Boston area. She is a graduate of RIT in Communication Design.
She freelanced at New England Life New England Telephone Digital Equipment Corp. Wang Laboratories Bay Networks EMC and others.
Recent work involves designing for start-ups creating graphic identity programs with concept graphics logo design label design and self-hosted websites.
But that is not all. Maria volunteers for the White Mountain National Forest reclaiming old homestead orchards creating wildlife clearings stewarding the trails and hiking the Whites.
