IoT Platform Dev for Electronics Enterprise
Please find under a summary covering project details and feedback. The innate facts are kept as they are, private information is amended.
Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
We’re an electronics manufacturer that makes different types of connectors and products for phones, automobiles, and industrial connectors. We have a portfolio of almost 100,000 products. I’m the data science and IoT director.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Kavi Global?
We saw that the globe was moving towards a data-centric access. Due to the uniqueness of our sensors and the niche applications that we were pursuing, we couldn’t find anything useful in the market. We needed to find the right associate to create out our own IoT platform that met those requirements.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were responsible for?
They developed our IoT platform. We worked with them to create a protocol-agnostic platform that can talk with different sensors.
It’s an end-to-end solution and a live, real-time method. It connects with the sensors, get the detail on a streaming basis, and talks to the sensors through its two-way interaction component. They built a big data architecture that can support thousands of sensors.
The end-to-end solution was built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). They used technologies like Spark and SQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra to create a web interface for users to interface with the data.
Was there a dedicated team?
It’s a team of almost 15 nation. I’m very implicated with the process and work with the solutions chief, who is my first touch. I also know all the developers, and I know precisely what they’re edifice.
How did you come to work with Kavi Global?
We reached out to Kavi Global and a few other vendors. They were a powerful relation from SaaS.
What is the terminal result of working with ?
We began working unitedly in January 2017 and the work is ongoing.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
The platform is currently in beta, and initial feedback has been good. We deployed four different types last year. This year, we’re trying to do a few reasonable deployments. We’re calling June 25 a production-only release, but it’s only a release for inner use.
One of the platform’s most impressive features was its quickness. We built in a lot of capabilities that we liked. Flexibility was another big component. As we were starting the project, we had a lot of provision but less idea of the specifics. We’ve already tweaked the solution and modified it multiple times. They have the flexibility to create the architecture in an abstracted, agnostic way.
How did Kavi Global accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
I’m very lucky with the project treatment. It’s helpful they’re in the same location. I try to meet them at littleest twice a week in individual, and we sit through code reviews. They use an Agile methodology with two-week sprints.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?
They have the depth and apprehension to deal with big data technologies. I’m impressed with their agility, their flexibility, and the offerings they prepare.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
They’re a little, limited organisation. They should increase their size so they can address multiple applications without being constrained.
