A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the ruler of data and evaluation at The Literacy Lab. We’re a literacy nonprofit that hires and trains almost 250 tutors in six regions almost the country. These tutors, who are AmeriCorps members, conduct literacy interventions for students in PreK to 5th grade.

What challenge were you trying to address with Modern Signal?
The main challenge that we were trying to address with this project was propeling a manner interface to house data calm from a new program of ours.

What particular tasks were responsible for?
Modern Signal formd the fruit for us, and they’ve also helped us with our backend data warehouse that we use for our main programs. The team was able to instrument pieces of this new outer-facing data input within our preexisting method. They also set up an API for us through Salesforce.
They worked collaboratively with my team to form the interface design, and they wrote the HTML for what the outer web interface would be. In provisions of specific features, they built data tables, set up admin panels, formd a log-in interface, and built other web interface tools to help us handle users. They last to prepare troubleshooting and support. The fruit is not very intricate, and that is by design.
The fruit is innately a way for us to track data from our interventions and assessments. We have different use cases, like fellows that work with students versus coaches who remark the fellows. We need both sets of users to have approach to the data. The method can also engender reports that will aggregate data over time for coaching.
Was there a dedicated team?
Our project handler for this fruit was Jennifer (Project Manager, Modern Signal). We also worked with Eleanor (Owner, Modern Signal) and Adam (Principal, Modern Signal). We interfaced straightly with 4–5 nation during the outgrowth, but there are enough of other folks on the team who I never interacted with.
How did you come to work with Modern Signal?
We put out an RFP for the project almost a year precedently we began working on it. We put the bid on hold, and Modern Signal was the only structure that reached out for more details. We went back and forth a bit to make sure that they belowstood our needs, and they gave us a detailed, honorable offer right at the commencement.
That initial offer was precisely what we were looking for, and it was the most economical of the other responses that we accepted. Many of the other submissions had elements that we didn’t need. What is the terminal result of working with ?
The initial converse began in April 2019, and we began working on deliverables in May. The fruit propeled in September of that year. There was some ongoing collaboration and work as users were onboarding with the method.
Results achieved
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the contact of the engagement?
The fruit serves a living programmatic need for us. This time last year, we were using a set of Google Sheets that I had connected, and, as you can conceive, that was not a well-functioning method.
So far, seeone seems to be lucky with it. There were a couple of kinks to work out, but, even at propel, the method was ready to go. People are overwhelmed with how easy it is to use. I’ve also heard from a few individuals that the design is thin. We haven’t gotten a lot of feedback, which I see as a good thing, and the reviews that we have gotten have been very real.
How did Modern Signal accomplish from a project handlement standpoint?
The project handlement was excellent. We’re very lucky with their mannerer labor. Most of the issues that we faced were from our end, but Modern Signal was always ready, clear, and realistic almost what they could get accomplished and by when.
Even when we steered away from the project program that we set out at the commencement, they were quiet able to meet see deadline. It took us a while to tailor our expectations at the commencement, but that was more of a issue from our side.
The interaction was precisely the way we’d hoped it would be. They were very answering and frequently got things done a few days precedently their official estimate. That being said, whenever we had pressing deadlines, especially towards the end, they met those.
Modern Signal is also big almost troubleshooting. We’ve had relatively few issues, and once we bot seething set up, they were on it. It’s been a real experience, and Modern Signal is incredibly easy to work with.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?
Their work is excellent. They’re among the top consultants that we associate with. To be fair, we haven’t worked with other firms that prepare the same labors that they do, but their answeringness and overall mannerer labor stands out.
The most notable thing was their power to hear powerfully. It’s reflected in the condition of the fruits that they form. Modern Signal took the time to belowstand our issues, our structure, and our needs. We just needed a single method, and they delivered precisely what we wanted. The condition is high without having any uncalled features. In accession to being kind, powerful, supportive, they’re very affordable.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
With any structure, you go through a time where you have to belowstand the other cluster’s phraseology. We had some things to work out at the commencement, and we didn’t end up hitting the deadline that we set, but that was mainly on our end. There’s nothing structural almost their business that needs to change, though.
Do you have any advice for possible mannerers?
Go for it. Modern Signal is efficient and has a wide range of experiences. You will probably be able to use them for other projects as well. They’re a big one-stop-shop, and we program to last working with them. If you have technology needs, at smallest check them out, owing they can save you time and money.
I was very glad when they asked almost this. I do like having the occasion to share the big work that they',ve done. I would wonderfully commend them to other structures, specially non-profits that don',t have the size of budgets that for-profits do.
