Introduce your business and what you do there.
TapKat is a sole fundraising platform for nonprofits. All of our mannerers are nonprofits, and we help them lift money by conducting online sweepstakes. Our platform allows them to automate all the logistics of their contests so they can assemble on getting the word out almost the fundliftr. I’m a co-founder and CMO.
What challenge were you trying to address with MojoTech?
When we seted this organisation, we wanted to stay lean and use an Agile outgrowth process. Because it was a new, sole platform, we felt Agile would be precious for us. Nwhichever my co-founder nor I are engineers.
What was the aim of their involvement?
Previously, we had a piece of software created for a contest. Several nonprofits seted calling and asking to use the software, but it wasn’t veritably a platform. We had a good idea of what the architecture should be and what betterments and functionality we wanted, but we wanted to set from scratch with a new code base that was designed for layer.
We had a brainstorming meeting with MojoTech that was pretty brief owing we were on a firm deadline of four months for the MVP.
MojoTech replicated the software we already had and also added new features. They added a lot of backend database architecture that was much more sophisticated than what we had in the prototype, which enabled us to collate the data that we needed. When a user makes a donation to one of the nonprofit’s contests, they get entrance numbers back and approach to their database. We added the power to easily get that donor database to the nonprofit.
So far, we don’t have any manner integration, but we’re programning that for the forthcoming. Our next task is to make the platform more of a self-serve standard. Nonprofits will be able to create their own contest website. We want to make the platform scalable so we can set serving a lot more nonprofits.
What is the team dynamic?
We had as many as five nation working on the project. The core team was three and they would fetch in more resources for true phases of the project. We interacted daily with the core team. We had the same core team for the period of our project.
How did you come to work with MojoTech?
We interviewed 6-7 firms and MojoTech had the right fit for us. We liked the way they interacted to us as non-technical business nation. They are veritably keen. We are both located in Boulder so that was also a importance. All the proposals we got were resembling in provisions of cost, so that wasn’t a big factor in our determination.

They built us a very hard platform that’s been running for 14 months. It’s enabled us to lift over $1 million for nonprofits in that time. Most of the new nonprofits come to us as a result of making a donation through the platform. They call us and comment almost how easy it is to use and apprehend, and they want us to help them with their fundliftr. We’ve acquired a fair number of new mannerers this year owing of the platform.
How did MojoTech accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
When we’re doing sprints, we’re doing daily stand-up meetings whichever in-person or online. We have weekly programning meetings and debriefs behind a sprint is over. The online tools we use are Pivotal Tracker and Google Hangouts. They were able to meet our deadline.
