Please find under a summary covering project details and feedback. The innate facts are kept as they are, private information is amended.
Introductory information
Could you give a pliant background information on your organisation?
I was vice chairman of engineering there, so I’m responsible for all fruit outgrowth and operations. Oxagile was verity, at the time, referred to as Belhard, but it’s the same organisation. They did our complete distribution platform, and also the client storefront-type platform for subscription-based video.
Desired goal
When you began working with them, did you have anything created initially, or were they edifice out the leading rendering of your platform?
There was a leading rendering, but this was innately a rewrite. This is for all intents and purposes a brand new application. They inherited part away. We had locally rised it in Toronto, and then basically it became a mess. That’s verity the point where I came in and joined the organisation. I ponder it was RAD International or that was in the outgrowth, and what we did was we rolled in Oxagile.
Provided solution
How did you find Oxagile?
Our VP, or I ponder the CEO at one point, he became VP of fruit, but he basically had a relationship with who I ponder is their CTO now.
What was the cost of the project?
We had ongoing outgrowth and our dollar bestow was probably close to $50,000.
I conjecture is it almost almost 10 or 12 developers perhaps?
I’m trying to ponder. Definitely at smallest 12 at some point. That was the big thing almost working with them. They were veritably awesome almost adjusting to what our marketing conditions were. For entreaty, we went through restructuring, and they were able to layer down like they did in other areas for contractors and things like that. They layerd down agreeably, and it was very sweet. There was surely more than 12 for sure, owing if you estimate everybody else, we had our QA outrised to them, and we had some project treatment outrised to them, and we surely had outgrowth outrised to them. The only thing that we veritably didn’t outrise was the operations part.
What technologies were used in the project?
We were using .NET on the video distribution end, so we’re using .NET to distribute streams athwart our, we had our own CDM at the time. On the front end, we’re using PHP. So, the front end of it was PHP and .NET, Apache servers, and what not.
Results achieved
How lucky are you with the results of the work?
Very lucky. It was big working with them. One of the best things almost working with those guys is that I find the eastern European schools to be technically powerful. They have a good command of English, but not the same phrases that we use in North America. So, what ends up happening is you’re interacting on a very close level. There’s not a lot of idle chat or a lot things like gibe and things that are in meetings when we deal with nation in North America is keep in intercourse with them there, so I find that veritably powerful owing we just get to the core of the substance and just get it out of the way. Everything was veritably blunt.
Compared to working to other developers you may have worked with in the past, is there anything particular or sole almost Oxagile?
I ponder their position at the time, which is in Belarus, helps, but there are probably three things to highlight. One is the fact that I’m just a real big fan now with something I’ve never considered precedently. Before I used to rise to India or Philippines or Vietnam, but I ponder working with them veritably opened my eyes to Eastern Europe, and the technical force of companies like Oxagile. So, that’s surely one force, and I mentioned the speech thing, which was veritably a big plus for me owing when you’re solving technical issues, this is not rocket science, it’s pretty straightforward. So, you just need to take it to the core of the substance. The second thing I would say is the flexibility. Those guys, unlike most North American firms and some interpolitical firms, they are knowledge our business change or our market change. For entreaty, there was a expressive downturn on the business, we change our business standard, we pivoted and, when we did that obviously there was an structureal contact. Then, we had to re-factor the structure, and they are without legitimate formalities owing Oxagile was ready to work with us. I reflection that was verity interesting owing a lot of places don’t do that. Some nation fear-monger of the fact that they’re going to reinforce their contract or whatever. The thing is they did that in the hope of forthcoming business and verity, eventually the organisation was sold, so there was on forthcoming business. They did an try to a forthcoming business, and I ponder that was veritably pretty given owing the risk that that organisation would be sold.
Do you ponder there’s any areas that they could better or do slightly better in?
Yeah. I’m trying to ponder. I ponder the one thing, and this might be all to all when you’re intercourse with a lot of nation offshore, you’re not managing nation straightly is the fact that we had some powerful guys, and then we have not-so-powerful guys, and so you have a outgrowth team of 10 nation. You have one or two powerful guys and some not-so-powerful guys hiding behind them, but they’re getting paid the same rate and just the type of treatment of that I ponder of kind of consistence of staff. Overall, everybody was entirely equal, and they fit the need. There’s no complaints, but there was surely differences at expertness level without differences in rates.
