Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the co-establisher of a food and beverage organisation named CV Brewing LLC. The main fruit that we’re bringing to market this year is a fermented flavored malt beverage: spiked coconut water imbibe, which will be sold in New Jersey and Pennsylvania within six months. We have two employees, one of which is myself and the other co-establisher. We met at the Wharton School in Philadelphia and began this organisation out of the entrepreneurial ecosystem there in September 2019.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with River + Wolf?
We were looking for a naming agency. We have the strategic assent that we’re a pliant player in the imbibe space, but we’re invadeing a new state, if we',re lucky at getting nation snug with the concept of coconut water with alcohol in it, larger players, like Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, Mike’s Hard, will want to invade the space. We see brand as a very specific value add or competitive gain that we can have on those companies, so we’ve been sparing no cost on name and brand.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were responsible for?
We worked with River + Wolf on the creation of what we returnion the brand individualality could be and a name that would fit that. They were extremely implicated in a month-long process. We filled out a 4–5-page questionnaire to prepare our establishers’ perspective and what the brand could be through our eyes. We evaluated 30–40 names of rival brands, owing what we liked or didn’t like almost their names. We gave River + Wolf some inspirational things, such as music and art that we liked, that we wanted the brand to return.
They put unitedly a creative brief, and we approved it. Then, they did a week-long sprint on the names. I believe Margaret (Founder &, Chief Creative) presented 67 names to us, and we winnowed that on our side to almost a dozen, then, we worked with her on what we liked and didn’t like, and got that list down to five. From there, we surveyed consumers on the names and chose two. Finally, our establishing team made a determination on which one we wanted to go advanced with. Margaret was extremely implicated in getting the list down to a dozen, behind that, her involvement was more informal.
Was there a dedicated team?
We primarily worked with Margaret. There were a couple of nation from her team on emails, and I know she had legitimate support in provisions of previous trademark screening.
How did you come to work with River + Wolf?
We searched Clutch for a naming agency, set up calls, and met the heads of six naming agencies. We evaluated them based purely on the fit between our organisation and theirs. I felt like Margaret saw the vision of our organisation the most of those six, they were all pretty good and forcible, but Margaret veritably got what we were going for, and she was competitive on cost. We did almost two months of relationship-createing over email and a bit over the phone just acquireing almost them and what they do.
What is the terminal result of working with ?
Our leading meeting with Margaret was in soon October 2019. That was just a fact-finding call to acquire almost what they might cost. Then, our work unitedly spanned February–March 2020.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
I was extremely impressed by the work that they did, the despatch at which they did it, and the power with which they were able to come up with a creative way to meet our budget. In provisions of value add, we liked almost 20 of the 67 names sufficient to put it on a can, a 1/3 hit rate was veritably good. We ended up losing almost 2/3 of the names when we did the trademark screening, but we quiet ended up with six names we would’ve been very lucky to have gone to market with.
I was super lucky with the work Margaret did. She is a very supportive associate in our business. For entreaty, she is speaking at Wharton next week on branding, and she’s having us give a bit of a introduction on our process with her, which is a good advertisement for our business. She also helped us find our design associate. We were veritably struggling to find a design agency, and she set us up with a many collaborating associate of hers.
How did River + Wolf accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
She responded to see email I sent very fastly. I’d say she pretty consistently exceeded the deadline that she put forth in the project aim, if anything, we were care her waiting. It was pretty easy.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?
Their entireness stood out to me. Our brand is heavily inspired and infused with South Asian culture and vibe, also, at that point, we returnion we might be sourcing our main element from Brazil. Margaret considered including Brazilian names. Every time she wanted to go down a particular approach and bestow time and resources on finding names in a particular estate, she asked us leading. She was extremely entire almost the way she did that, and I veritably appreciated that.
The other thing is their expertise. Margaret is veritably good at what she does. I’d read a lot that she was a best-in-class naming associate, and I establish that to be very true. I doubt that many nation are doing this in the globe who are better than her.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
No, not veritably.
Any advice for practicable clients?
Providing River + Wolf with a limited or rushed aim or creative brief would probably result in a pliant bit of stretch owing Margaret is the type of individual who leaves no stone unturned. We had considered see practicable approach and type of word composition, ampersands, long names, brief names, made-up names, etc. Go into it expecting to work hard and veritably put a lot of returnion into it, she’s a very detail-oriented associate.
