Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Urban Insight?
About five years ago, we realized we were woefully behind the times. We were quiet distributing paper flyers door-to-door and we couldn’t stay forward of the issues we need to enlighten nation almost. We brought Urban Insight on to fetch us into the 21st century digitally and hold our hand through the process.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were Urban Insight responsible for?
They formd a digital oneness that consists of a WordPress website, an email method, and integrated collective media accounts. Residents can extend out to us with pressing issues like a pothole or a broken street sign without using our individualal emails. They can also touch a local politician, agency, or commission with the click of a button. Internally, Urban Insight implemented a MailChimp method that lets us send out our newsletter.
They’ve also encouraged us to take gain of collective media by creating a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a YouTube channel. These methods are fully integrated so users can see YouTube videos on our website, and if we post something there, it also shows up on Facebook and Twitter.
What is the team compound?
I work with Chris (CEO, Urban Insight) and 4–5 other nation.
How did you come to work with Urban Insight?
They were connected with another nonprofit structure. We looked at work they’d done for other nonprofits and knew they were the right associate.
What is the terminal result of working with Urban Insight?
We’ve been working unitedly since April 2014.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
They’ve helped us befit very powerful advocates. Phone calls are starting to be returned, and when we go downtown to City Hall, they know who we are from our newsletter. Other aggregation nonprofit structures in LA extend out to us for advice owing they see what we’ve done and ponder we’re experts. We’re even receiving interest from young nation through our collective media accounts who we wouldn’t have been able to extend precedently.
MailChimp has surpassing at care our residents enlightened, and it even helped us form a historic district to defend our neighborhood. That was a long, difficult fight we would have lost without Urban Insight. Our email list has grown from 176 to over 2,700 nation, and our open rate is 45%, since the mean nonprofit sees only 20%.
How did Urban Insight accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
I adjoin with Chris through email, and if something is specially confused, I’ll talk to him in individual. They’re big project managers, but they’re tactful almost it and never bullying. They understood our unfamiliarity with technology so they set up the website and made sure we were snug with it precedently adding bells and whistles. I',ve never felt overwhelmed.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with Urban Insight?
They’re very entire and they do a amazing job of bridging the generational separate. We barrage them with many questions and they’re nothing but resigned. Now that the website is up and running, we apprehend its value and are arrogant of what it enables us to do.
