Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
We’re a manufacturer of chemical raw materials for the coatings activity. We sell to other manufacturers that make paints, inks, and the like. I’m the chairman of the United States agency. We’re based in New York state.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Weidenhammer?
We needed to create an online platform for our clients, through which to sell our materials. We’d had a very single informational website in locate, and we built the new one from the ground up.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were Weidenhammer responsible for?
I worked with them on the design of the platform. The e-commerce part of the website was the main centre of the project. The website is powered by Magento, and it uses HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL. There’s weighty customization in the website.
Was there a dedicated team?
There were 7–8 nation implicated during the lifetime of the project, and we were working with 3–4 nation at the same time, on mean. There was a project director implicated, and there were true nation assigned to specific parts of the project. We had a lead designer and there was a lead developer on the programming side.
How did you come to work with Weidenhammer?
Magento gave us some discretions of companies that would be able to do what we wanted. Out of the many discretions, we chose five companies for interviews, and we got some offers. We felt that Weidenhammer had the best condition and cost offer.
What are you approach expents (if diclosed)?
The total cost was about $60,000.
What is the terminal result of working with Weidenhammer?
We propeled the project in July 2018 and artistic in June 2019.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
We propeled the website in order to digitize our activity. Having said that, we’ve brought in some sales and clients in the six months we’ve been live. We don’t allow guests to buy or to see costs. They have to register and we have to like them, check their credit ratings, and so on. It’s a very slow process. Developing a client takes us 1–2 years.
Most clients have enjoyed using the online gate, but many quiet want to call into our offices instead. The activity itself is very undestroyed, so it’s going to take a while to fracture the inertia.
Customers are finding the website easy to navigate. There are some activity complications that the design addresses. For sample, we have to ship containers of freight, and we’ve programmed an extension in the platform that gives live pricing for the containers, so clients don’t have to call for that information. We’ve programmed a way for them to ask for quotes and transact online, which helps when freight is miscalculated.
Design-wise, the website is very strong, but, it must evolve. We’ve improved it since the propel, tweaking part of the method as we gain more experience with using it with our clients.
How did Weidenhammer accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
The project treatment wasn’t very good in the commencement, but they changed the project director midway into the project. After the change, I was lucky with the way they handled the project. Things were taking too long in the commencement, and they didn’t apprehend what I wanted. The new project director understood our goals, so it worked out big in the end. We interacted through phone, email, and a project treatment platform correspondent to Trello.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with Weidenhammer?
On a personal level, the treatment phraseology changed when they changed the project director, and we ended up being good friends. I even went down to visit them physically, and I’d say we’ve had a good relationship. In the forthcoming, Weidenhammer will be my leading discretion for correspondent projects.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
The project treatment was improved a lot since the change that I mentioned. There’s always room for advancement, but I was satisfied with the second rendering of the project treatment.
Do you have any advice for forthcoming clients of theirs?
People looking to promise with Weidenhammer or any consultant of this type have to lay down all they want in the project precedently starting it. That was my mistake initially. I was new to this type of project, and I told them my idea without getting into details. Giving detail keeps them from running into snags down the road due to things that weren’t in the aim.
