How Epson’s Moverio AR glasses have enabled a new, safer way to fly drones: YML Digital Strategy project at Qualified. One

How Epson’s Moverio AR glasses have enabled a new, safer way to fly drones by YML

Some details

Flying a drone is tricky. And it’s made more difficult when the pilot has to look down at the controls on their phone or tablet, breaking the line of sight with the drone, and risking crashing thousands of dollars of equipment.

Idea

Bringing together EPSON’s smart glasses, and DJI’s drone technology, we created SoAR: a revolutionary drone flying experience. The SoAR app gives pilots control of their drone

through the Moverio smart glasses. The augmented reality interface for the glasses lets pilots maintain line of sight with their drone without losing any information about their drone. The EPSON &, DJI SoAR app gives pilots full control of their drone through the interface of the Moverio smart glasses. Impact

DJI has become the market leader in easy-to-fly drones and aerial photography systems. After a number of successful engagements, we are now their preferred partner for 3rd party experiences using DJI drones.
