KenCreative is led by Ken Monnens an award-winning expert who has enjoyed 30 successful years in the graphic design industry. He has assembled other senior marketers and designers as well as some of the best young talent in the industry today. With diverse professional backgrounds gained from a vast pool of clients and categories each member brings something unique to our team. In the spirit of the phrase ’quality over quantity’ we have remained a small team by choice. As a result we have become a tightly knit group that truly enjoys working together.
NEW YORK March 27 2018 — Jay Parry will step down as WNBA Chief Operating Officer (COO) on April 30 it was announced today by WNBA President Lisa Borders.
Parry will continue to serve as a senior adviser to Borders. Additionally she will become Principal Adviser at KenCreative in the San Francisco Bay Area focusing on growing the companys food wine and lifestyle business. KenCreative is a branding firm with a client roster that includes luxury reseller TheRealReal Blue Diamond Almonds Humboldt Creamery and Noble Family Wines.
’I want to express my appreciation and admiration to Jay as she has been instrumental in the WNBAs growth’ said Borders. ’Jays extensive experience in sales and strategy helped our league accomplish so much during her tenure and it was a pleasure to work with her and have her be part of our executive team. I am pleased shell be continuing to advise us.

Parry has led the WNBAs business and strategy functions since joining the league in May 2016. During her tenure the WNBA saw significant growth in key business metrics – including reaching its highest attendance in six years in 2017 — while providing fans with new ways to engage with the league through livestreamed games on Twitter and the launch of the leagues first official one-day fantasy game with FanDuel. In addition a full roster of WNBA teams and players appeared in a video game for the first time when NBA LIVE 18 launched last fall.
Prior to joining the WNBA Parry served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. Her responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of planning and executing a record-breaking Super Bowl XLIX held in Arizona in 2015 working closely with the NFL and numerous business and governmental constituents in the market. Her professional career spans a wide array of sports-related and corporate assignments including Senior Vice President of Brand and Business Development for the Phoenix Suns President and Chief Operating Officer of the Phoenix Mercury and Executive Vice President at Bank of America leading customer acquisition programs.
Ken is the founding principal and Executive Creative Director overseeing all creative work. Ken graduated with highest honors with a B.S. in Fine Art from UC Davis having studied with many of Californias leading contemporary artists including Wayne Thiebaud Roland Peterson and Manuel Neri. He then studied design at CCA and simultaneously began his career as a designer for Cato Johnson a design subsidiary of Young and Rubicam. While working full-time Ken attended evening classes and received his law degree in the spring of 1983.
In the fall of 1983 Ken founded what is now KenCreative with a portfolio of clients that included The Clorox Company Atari Home Computers and Dreyers Grand Ice Cream. Kens 30-year career in design spans all categories and industries. He has provided design solutions and account services to Americas top companies. His design sense is strategic brand-focused and award winning.
Ken spends much of his personal time with philanthropic work. He serves on the boards of the Manetti-Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis the Foundation for Tibetan Cultural Preservation and the Advisory Board of The Taylor Family Foundation which provides weeklong camp experiences for children with life-threatening illnesses. Ken enjoys life on his farm in Napa Valley.
Erin continues to be an integral member of our team since her onboarding in 2006. The superior client service and communication skills she gained in the health care industry have enabled her to expertly cultivate and sustain our new and existing client relationships. She graduated from UC Davis in 2003 with a B.S. in Community and Regional Development with an emphasis in Sociology.
Erins knowledge client-first mentality attention to detail and keen design sense add insight to our service-based clients like Covia Shutterfly and Oxbow Public Market. She is one of our primary client account leaders and oversees client projects with an eye for value creativity and accuracy.
James studied Art History and American Literature in Italy before graduating from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in English Creative Writing. After teaching English in Thailand James joined the KenCreative team in 2017. An accomplished copywriter James crafts expert content to support a variety of client projects including digital content advertising and brochures.
Sandra and Ken attended art school together at UC Davis worked together early in their careers and continue to collaborate today. Sandys deep experience in packaging and brand identity is concentrated in the food and beverage industry. Her contributions to our team have resulted in many successful consumer packages including our work for the Sunshine Advanced line of garden soils.
Abel received a double B.A. in Fine Art in Graphic Design and Drawing and Painting from CSU Long Beach in 2007. He went on to receive a M.A. in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University in 2010. Abel has been with KenCreative since 2011 and among many other responsibilities oversees the countless collateral pieces for The RealReal.
Danica has been with KenCreative since 2008 and has proven herself a valuable team player. After completing her studies in Graphic Design Danica graduated with honors from Santa Rosa Junior College. She designs websites logos brochures and reports for many of our clients.
Sandy keeps our business and financial affairs current and complete. Her attention to detail is unparalleled and the consistent quality of her efforts allow the account and design teams to stay focused on finding strategic and creative solutions for our clients.
Sima works with Sandy in handling our accounting and personnel needs. She has worked with Ken for over 10 years and has a thorough understanding of the state and federal regulations guiding our profession.
