Lu Stasko is a marketing and public relations expert who specializes in helping entrepreneurs get the maximum attention they need to achieve success. Since forming The Stasko Agency in 1998 Lu has helped dozens of entrepreneurs launch companies and gain traction in markets as diverse as technology media and hospitality. Her deep relationships with the media and the community allow her to easily connect clients to key audiences and resources.
Throughout her career Lu has managed PR campaigns for developers retailers non-profits government agencies restaurants associations and marketing firms. She often works with clients starting on the ground floor helping them establish brand recognition in the market and then guiding them through expansions and further growth. She helped build Little Man Ice Creams reputation as a must-see attraction in Denvers Lower Highland neighborhood and put Root Down on the map as one of the citys first sustainable restaurants. She also introduced developer Southern Land Company to the Colorado market and helped the company effectively navigate and address community concerns. The start-up companies shes worked with have landed on Inc. 500s Fastest Growing Companies list and garnered investment and in some cases buyers because of the credibility theyve built in their industries through earned media.
Lu gained her marketing and PR experience working in business development for Zenchiku (USA) Inc. a Japanese beef export company. She also served as a promotional coordinator for the Tabor Center during its grand opening year. She holds a bachelors degree in marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
A resident of the Highland area since 1996 Lu is an active community member and helped found the Lower Highland Merchants Group. She is a former board member of Highland United Neighbors Inc. (HUNI) and is a chief fundraiser for such popular events as the neighborhoods annual 4th of July parade. In 2007 Lu received the Vincent OFlaherty Award for significant contribution and commitment to the Highland Neighborhood.
Lu has also provided pro-bono public relations and publicity support to many non-profit organizations including Augies Quest the Cherubim Foundation Seeds of Hope Tara Wellness Group and Denver Active 20 – 30 Childrens Foundation.
When shes not working Lu enjoys organizing family gatherings and spending time in Colorados mountains.
