TechBridge is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization with one mission – to help nonprofits use technology to increase capacity to serve our community. We focus on technology enabling nonprofits to focus on their mission. TechBridge has provided IT consulting hosting and outsourcing services to hundreds of nonprofits helping them harness the productivity gains long since enjoyed by the corporate sector. As an affiliate of the NPower Network TechBridge has facilitated the donation of millions of dollars in Microsoft software and connects the needs of nonprofits with the skills and financial resources of the technology community. WITs mission is to develop and promote women for success in technology in Georgia. Each year more than 1000 thought leaders and professionals attend WIT Forums WITs leadership and networking series. WIT delivers professional development programs such as WIT Executive Coaching and WIT Careers in Action to enable members to hone their leadership skills and achieve visibility within the business community.
WITs philanthropic and educational programs such as Girls Get IT provide outreach to educate and encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in science and technology. WIT has two annual premier events WIT Connect WITs annual fundraiser event and WITs Women of the Year in Technology Awards honoring the women who lead Georgias technology community. WIT is a founding society of the Technology Association of Georgia an umbrella membership organization that serves the Georgia technology community. Founded in 1979 the Atlanta Community Food Bank currently distributes almost two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month to more than 800 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Distributing these donations to low-income Georgians our partner agencies provide dynamic links between the local community the Food Bank and our supporters.
The Ron Clark Academy is a private nonprofit SACS CASI accredited middle school in Southeast Atlanta that promotes innovation and inspires its students through energetic teaching balanced by a strict code of discipline. Each year 3000 educators from around the world visit the Academy to learn how to replicate the schools style philosophy and success in their own classrooms. The Academy currently relies on outside funding to provide scholarships to students from varying academic backgrounds.
Wiskott-Aldrich is a rare genetic disease that kills most victims before the age of two. Creating and growing the For Petes Sake Foundation began as a personal crusade by the friends and family of P.J. Lyle. None of them had heard of the disease until it threatened to take the life of the young son of Peter and Beth Lyle. Wiskott-Aldrich Sydrome strikes too few children to garner national attention celebrity telethons or massive government research. Before the For Petes Sake Foundation began in 2003 Wiskott-Aldrich had no organized charitable support at all.
