Richard discovered a talent for art at an early age and could often be found dodging his schoolwork to craft life drawings with pastels. He attended the University of Derby in England where his love for graphic design was born.
Richard a native Brit got his start as the designer—really the entire graphic design department—for a company that created trade show displays pop-up displays and conference graphics. Since then he has focused on museum exhibit design creating graphics and interpretive projects for a variety of renowned venues. His work on the permanent visitors center at Rievaulx Abbey garnered him an Interpret Britain Award and his exhibition designs for the Berkshire Museum and the Mount have been recognized with American Graphic Design awards from GD USA.
When hes not creating extraordinary exhibition displays Richard loves to ski take his kids to local museums and historic houses and compare the cuisine of the various farm-to-table restaurants of the Berkshires.
Abby has always had a deep love for art but the open-endedness of the blank canvas . . . not so much. During a stint as a receptionist in an architects office she uncovered a facility for sketching designs and attended Pratt Institute where she earned an M.A. in graphic design. Website design was in its infancy but she dove right in mastering everything from the interactive portfolios on floppy disk of yesteryear (i.e. the 1990s) to todays sophisticated semi-custom and custom web designs.
After college Abby completed a stint in television graphics for PBS where she was honored with 2 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Graphics and Title Design for her work on the childrens show Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego? After working in agencies in New York and then London for a decade she became a freelance Web designer and print graphic designer and her work has been featured in Graphic Design USA Awwwards and Design Week. She has also taught an advanced visual design course for the graduate Interactive Media program at Quinnipiac University.
When not working on branding logos or a host of marketing or website design projects Abby is usually doing yoga visiting museums with Richard and their kids and attending a wide variety of cultural events from concerts to dance performances.
