We build web applications using the Drupal open-source content management framework. Alongside our Drupal developers we have experts covering the entire scope of creating web applications from deployment to performance tuning to content creation.
OpenSource is at the heart of our business. We contribute to several projects which in turn allows us to build exceptional applications.
We strongly believe that communication is of utmost importance when creating a solution that works for you. Our staff is bilingual and were constantly building and improving the tools we use to communicate with each other and our clients.
Coldfront itself came from a group of friends spending time writing code and contributing it back to the OpenSource community. We write code in our spare time and were lucky enough to do it as our day job too.
Since we contribute back to OpenSource projects we know our code will be scrutinized by a large group of developers and organizations. Weve been bred to write quality code that is well documented and works as desired. We take the time to do it right the first time.
Based in Ottawa Coldfront Labs Inc. is a privately held corporation. The company was founded in 2007 as a partnership between alumni from the University of Ottawas Computer Science Student Association. For two years we developed custom desktop- and web-applications for businesses in the Ottawa region. We moved exclusively to developing web applications with Drupal in 2009. As of 2011 Coldfront Labs became Coldfront Labs Inc. and weve continued to build Drupal applications for higher education government enterprise as well as small to medium-sized businesses in various sectors from coast to coast in North America.
Nick graduated from Algonquin College#39;s Internet Application and Web Development in 2016 and spent a lot of time working in the public sector doing web development graphic design and technical documentation.
Melissa graduated from Algonquin College in the Graphic Designer program (with honours). She loves design and problem solving issues with HTML and CSS. Melissa is now our Lead Web Designer. She styles all of our websites accordingly and efficiently.
On her off hours Melissa streams her favourite video games on Twitch or takes care of her animals!
Francois is a passionate creative and versatile software developer with a background in computer science. He believes quality and harmony are achieved through effective communication and by leveraging the right tools for each job. An open-mind and a focus on creative problem solving allows him to develop solutions that are functional innovative and trustworthy. Francois specializes in middleware Drupal integration. With expertise in Drupals Entity API Services and Organic Groups architectures Francois brings together the low-level data APIs with the front-end user interfaces. He is also the project lead for Dropfort.com our Drupal workflow and process management tool.
Danielle brings her expertise in communication education and marketing to our team. She is a proficient communicator an assiduous organizer and a creative-spirit at heart. She excels at breaking down communication barriers between fields auditing content and providing results-oriented content strategy.
Mat has been working with Drupal since 2005. He co-founded Coldfront Labs back in 2007 and became CEO when the company incorporated in early 2011. With specialization in workflows and process management for Drupal projects Mathew guides our team in deploying stable and testable code during a projects lifespan.
Mat is passionate about responsive web development and bringing powerful applications to the browser using HTML5 and Drupal. He maintains/co-maintains several modules on Drupal.org revolving around responsive design including FlexSlider Responsive Tables and jQuery Mobile.
Wendy is our designer and front-end web developer specializing in building intuitive user-friendly accessible web applications with the latest web standards. She is passionate about web design and makes it a priority to continually expand her knowledge constantly keeping up-to-date in an ever growing industry.
Involved within the Ottawa web community she is the Youth Lead for Girls Learning Code in Ottawa. She enjoys playing a part in exposing the wonderful world of technology to youth and witnessing them grow into the technologists of tomorrow.
Dave has experience working in almost all roles of IT–software developer system analyst up to director. He brings his passion for open-source software and background in Computer Science to his role as Chief Technical Officer of Coldfront Labs Inc.
He is the most senior Drupal architect at Coldfront Labs. His focus on data and system integration allows Drupal applications to integrate with nearly any existing system. He has experience integrating Drupal with Apache Solr IBM DB2 mainframe and variety of RESTful web services. With his previous experience as a systems analyst he is also an expert in server configuration and performance tuning for Drupal applications. He is also the maintainer of the WSData and Adaptive Image Styles modules on Drupal.org.
Salman has worked in IT for over seven years in both the private and public sector. He is a seasoned PHP developer and a Drupal migration specialist. He is passionate about the release of Drupal 8 constantly keeping up with its latest developments. Salman has presented his research regarding AngularJS with Drupal-headless at DrupalCamp Montreal and on using Web Services with Drupal at DrupalCamp Ottawa.
