Steven Jast has over 20 years#39; experience in all aspects of economic development. He began his career at the boutique advisory firm CAI Corporate Affairs International where he specialized in site selection analysis jurisdictional marketing and industrial clustering. A serial entrepreneur Steve founded the economic development consulting firm ROI Research on Investment in 2003. Since then ROI has grown from a staff of two to an international company of 60 professionals with offices in four countries. ROI was part of Canada#39;s Hot Profit 50 fastest-growing companies and Steve was nominated to be Ernst amp; Young Entrepreneur of the year. Steve is a thought leader in the field of modern economic development and investment attraction and has been published in the prestigious fDi magazine. He#39;s a regular speaker at international conferences and provides training and coaching to economic development leaders around the world. In 2015 he founded Gazelle.ai to push the boundaries of methods used to identify early-stage signals of corporate expansion.
Simon began his career in the private sector with Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) where he held senior executive positions in business strategy sales and marketing. As part of a special BCE taskforce with McKinsey amp; Company Simon developed a predictive model based on algorithms that offered advanced segmentation and targeting strategy. He was awarded BCEs Ovation Award the highest distinction at the company. In 2009 he joined ROI as a partner and was key in developing ROIs private practice for deal makers as well as overseeing the companys global sales and operations strategy and execution. Simon is Gazelle.ais Executive VP.
Conor is a graduate of University College Cork Ireland (BA) and holds an MBA from INSEAD. Upon completion of his MBA in 1994 Conor was recruited as a Senior Advisor to the Minister for Defense and Marine in the Irish government responsible for implementing the governments political program at the domestic and European levels. Conor joined ROI Research on Investment in 2009 as a partner and Chief Financial Officer and is also Gazelle.ais VP Finance.
Nadine received her Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia and her Masters in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. Before joining Gazelle.ai Nadine was the Principal Economist at Growth Economics Inc. An expert in benchmarking and growth cluster analyses Nadine is responsible for developing models and training algorithms to identify growth signals related to emerging companies and targeted industries.
Hugh received his Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of California. Hugh has been a professor in the department of Accounting Finance and Economics at the Oxford Brookes University U.K. Hughs research has been highly inter-disciplinary spanning from applied and theoretical contexts and reflects an integrated economic psychological and natural sciences methodology. The economic elements of his work involve multiple forms of modeling including CGE and statistical modeling micro simulation and frontier agent based methods. His forecasting experience includes traditional univariate time series and multivariate panel approaches and behavioral approaches. As Gazelle.ai Chief Economist Dr. Kelley is responsible for the Data Creation Forecasting and Analysis of the platform. He manages our team of economists and data scientists who are responsible for developing and training our various algorithms.
Najmeh obtained her Master#39;s Degree in Quality Systems Engineering from Concordia University. She also has a Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering. Prior to joining Gazelle.ai as a Software QA Analyst she worked as a front-end web developer and SEM Specialist and built several websites with a focus on search engine optimization (SEO) and cross-browser compatibility.
Ali obtained his bachelor#39;s degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University. He is passionate about technology and brings his critical thinking skills from Engineering combined with his technical expertise to solve problems which makes him a valuable asset to Gazelle. Prior to joining the Gazelle team in 2019 Ali worked in the oil and gas industry.
Nabil is a veteran software engineer with twenty years of experience in professional and academic software development. He has a masters degree in computer science from Concordia University in Montreal with a background in social science computer science and experimental research. Before Gazelle Nabil occupied roles ranging from research and university teaching assistant to technical support agent and some sixteen years worth of software development and engineering roles in flight simulation eye-tracking full-stack point-of-sale ETL and AI. In his free time Nabil enjoys solving chess puzzles composing music and coming up with techniques to make musical composition more accessible.
Carrie joined the Gazelle.ai in 2018 and is our Vice President of Business Development for Gazelle.ai. She leads interaction with economic development professionals to support their business attraction and retention efforts through Gazelle.ai. Prior to joining the Gazelle.ai team Carrie worked with Insyteful an economic development marketing group and gained valuable skills in website development digital marketing and strategic planning for economic development communities. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Marketing.
As Gazelle.ai CTO Viktor is responsible for technical growth and enhancement of the product and he facilitates the teamwork of economists mathematicians data scientists and software engineers developing this unique data platform. Since 2008 Viktor had worked as a project manager in the area of e-learning managing technical teams implementing custom educational solutions in various industries and as a software developer since 2012.
He holds a Specialist degree in Systems Programming from the National Aviation University (Kyiv Ukraine) and MA from National University of ’Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He also is a Certified Scrum Master and Agile coach.
Dean holds a Bachelors in Investment and Corporate Finance from the University of the Witwatersrand South Africa. Prior to joining Gazelle.ai Dean has Co-founded a sports company and has worked as a Financial Manager for an Aircraft Engineering company. Based in Montreal Dean joined Gazelle.ai in 2020 as a Data Analyst bringing his skillset of Python Java Machine Learning and various analytical tools to the team.
Mohammad holds a Masters in Computer Sciences (M.Sc.) from Amirkabir University of Technology Iran. For the past 10 years Mohammad has held roles as a Senior Software Engineer and Business Analyst in various companies most recently with Pars Tasmim and NAK Telecom. Based in Montreal he joined Gazelle.ai in 2019 as a Software Engineer and Data Analyst. He has worked on Enterprise Business Systems with different open-source and commercial technologies including Python Odoo Postgres and CA IDM.
Ahmed obtained a finance and international business bachelors degree from the John Molson School of Business and prior to joining the Gazelle.ai team worked in commodities and banking. Interested in all things tech he was most excited by working in the ever evolving field of AI. He enjoys forming long-term relationships with EDOs amp; higher education institutions while learning about their goals.
Carlos is a graduate of the Latin University of Costa Rica in Marketing and Advertising. He has 15 years of experience in the private sector in several fields where he held senior sales business development and account management positions.
Stephen has a bachelors degree in Political Science from McGill University and is now a Client Engagement Manager at Gazelle.ai. He is particularly excited about being on the forefront of research in economic development and is thrilled to be able to help new and established users get the very most out of Gazelle.ai.
Dan Vy is currently a Customer Success Manager at Gazelle.ai. Prior to coming to Gazelle.ai Dan Vy worked at Sonder a Canadian hospitality startup that brought her valuable insights into working in a fast-paced environment while delivering great customer service to hundreds of guests. She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal.
Tommy has been improving team morale since he joined us in 2019. The only G-Score of 7 he is growing quickly and wont be a puppy for too much longer. Given his border collie/boxer background Tommy helps us herd Gazelles and find projects for our clients. His favorite part about working with Gazelle is being adored by everyone in the office.
