About Amalgamated Unlimited SEO company in Montclair, United States
Im Michael Schreiber and I founded Amalgamated Unlimited in 2017. I help organizations big and small develop content strategies that make sense. But enough about the company. Lets talk about me.
My professional career has taken a few twists and turns.
I started off as a social psychologist working on something called Terror Management Theory which explores how our consciousness of our own mortality impacts many facets of our lives. (If youre looking to better understand just what the hell is going on in our country and the world in general reading a little TMT will help - heres a good book on the subject).
After about a year I returned to my first love: writing. I got a job at a newspaper in upstate New York and covered city hall. Eventually I made it to New York attended Columbias Graduate School of Journalism and focused on documentaries and multimedia journalism.
For the next five years or so I worked in TV helping produce long form documentaries for the New York Times Frontline ABC News HBO and others. I was part of some great teams and we won some nice awards (a couple Emmies duPonts and others).
One of the films I worked on was an episode of Frontline called ’The Secret History of the Credit Card.’ This film surprisingly turned out to be a big deal because while just about everyone had a credit card in his or her wallet pretty much no one understood how they worked. It was also likely the first film to bring Elizabeth Warren to the national stage - which may make you happy or angry depending on your political predilections. (I also helped produce Frontlines and other documentaries about terrorism in Europe Hurricane Katrina Abu Ghraib and more.)
Having done that credit card film I somehow found myself with some personal finance expertise and I landed a job as managing editor of MainStreet.com - which was part of TheSteet.com - Jim Cramers Wall Street news portal. It was there that I learned the business of online news - specifically the importance of content distribution and syndication.
I was hired away from the TheStreet in 2010 and became Editor In Chief and Chief Content Officer at Credit.com. The goal was to build a world class news team team that would be recognized as such by other news teams. It worked. The strategy proved transformational.
Credit.com was ultimately acquired. I stayed on for a while but after a year or so decided it was time for a change. I wanted to help more companies achieve transformational change through content which is why youre reading this.
These days I help companies develop content and editorial strategies that make sense I launched and run a news syndication service called MediaFeed.org and I occasionally write for NBC Nightly News.
I look forward to talking about your goals and how I can help.
Thanks
Mike
