bell+funk started with a philosophy and a desire to build the kind of marketing agency where wed like to work. We had each been part of other agencies — Jen in San Francisco and David here in Eugene — and had a sense of what we did and didnt like. We put them into our philosophy statement and got to work looking for ’good clients to work with on good projects.’ And we found them. We partner with clients who provide vital services like public transportation education social services and affordable health care. We collaborate with organizations that promote environmental stewardship and the arts. And we work with people who are working to ensure a healthy and vibrant downtown. Because downtown is our home too. In the end we built a workplace in a community that we love. Thats our idea of success.
Jen is the head honcho around these parts – she is also a big research nerd; her happy place would be a room full of puppies and ninety-page focus group reports. Talk to her for more than a minute and youll spill your guts: her magical power is being able to interview anybody (hipsters in NYC tourists in Atlantic City and burger lovers in Houston to name a few). In her free time she mostly thinks about what to make for dinner and if her library books are overdue.
