Christopher F. Bonney is the founder of Bonney amp; Company. An early reading of David Ogilvys Confessions of an Advertising Man created an interest in advertising and marketing that survived forays into political science foreign language studies architectural history and accounting. Chris is fortunate to have begun his research career when it was still possible to work with some of the grandfathers of modern marketing research. This helped form not only a strong methodological foundation and commitment to the highest ethical standards but also a strong marketing point of view.
Prior to forming Bonney amp; Company in 1991 Bonney was marketing research director of the Earle Palmer Brown Companies a $450 million advertising public relations and direct marketing firm Before that he was research director at the highly respected Lawler Ballard Advertising a regional advertising and public relations firm based in Norfolk Virginia. Earlier Chris was advertising research manager for Richmond Newspapers and assistant director of corporate research for Media General Inc. a Fortune 500 media corporation.
Chris served as vice president of the American Marketing Association and has also served on the Associations strategic planning and finance committees and in other capacities. He speaks regularly before academic and professional audiences on topics related to advertising marketing research consumer behavior marketing communications and marketing strategy. He is a member of the American Association of Public Opinion Research and the World Affairs Council of Hampton Roads.
