History
In 1815 with Connecticuts infant economy threatened by export embargoes and British import dumping a group of business leaders met in Middletown. They set in motion 200 years of businesses working together protecting and promoting the states rich legacy of ingenuity and innovation pushing for government accountability and fighting for fairness—whether on trade policy or taxes regulations or healthcare costs. That leadership role is testament to the commitment and energy of CBIA members and their willingness to champion change at the State Capitol shape debate about Connecticuts economic competitiveness and fight for a better future for all.
