In 1999 in Fort Collins Colorado Clint Lucas started Detailed Landscape; just him and a truck a used trailer and a couple of lawnmowers given to him by his dad. It was a lawn mowing service at first – or at least it felt that way.
But lawn care customers started asking for Clints help with small projects like installing rock and mulch building flower beds and retaining walls planting trees and shrubs and other modifications to their landscaping. Those small projects got bigger and bigger and word of mouth recommendations pushed Clint and Detailed Landscape to evolve.
After the first year Clint brought on a couple employees to help; the next year and the next he hired a couple more. As business continued to grow Clint made the deliberate decision to enter the residential market. He chose this path because quite simply he likes people. Clint has organized his business so he can continue to work in the field with his team and work closely with his clients to create their perfect space.
At its heart Detailed Landscape is a family business. Clints dad whos been working in the landscaping industry since 1972 works with him now and has been key detailed Landscapes success. Clints wife Stacey runs the office. Many staff members have been on the team for 14+ years and Detailed Landscapes first hire is still here 20 years later.
What it comes down to is that I love what I do. I love my relationships with clients and the way we work together fluidly to make projects come to life. I love seeing the work through putting in that effort from conception to completion.
