Established in 1978 Leanne and Gary Starr opened the doors of Drake amp; Company as a fledgling professional staffing firm. They started with nothing more than a pen a pad of paper and a telephone. The idea for the company arose from local demand. The pair saw an opportunity for an employment agency that knew the unique needs of the community. On her first day on the job Leanne took a seat on the floor of the new office (office chairs came later!). From there she connected with as many Madison employers as she could. By days end she had the first of what eventually became thousands of positions to fill. Since then Drake amp; Company Staffing Solutions has grown to a thriving firm. That includes two fully-equipped offices (including desks and chairs!).
Not only recognized for being a leader in staffing solutions Drake is also known for its generous contribution to the community. Giving back is built into their business model. Drake amp; Company has always held the belief that growing together as members of the local community is essential. As a leader in the ’Buy Local’ movement the company strives to work with local businesses knowing they are not only essential for the companys success but also make up the backbone of the community.
Of course theres more than one way to enjoy helping the community. Drake employees are encouraged to participate in volunteer organizations and often do so as a group. Some of the past charitable opportunities theyve been involved range from clothing drives to homeless veterans initiatives.
