In 2008 Exosites founder held a hackathon for participants to create a connected solution that could remotely monitor a solar-power installation at his home. The process was ridiculously complex and the need for an IoT software suite quickly became clear. In 2009 Exosite was born with the launch of its One Platform device and data platform and Portals dashboarding application to help customers quickly develop customized IoT applications and rapidly evaluate connected hardware.
Over the next few years Exosite experienced dramatic customer adoption with commercial and industrial manufacturers as well as with organizations specializing in service delivery on high-value assets. Through these engagements Exosite developed a talented team with an in-depth understanding of the features capabilities and user experiences these diverse organizations required. Exosite incorporated this experience into its next-generation IoT platform Murano which was launched in 2016 and its no-coding application suites ExoHome and ExoSense which were launched in 2018.
Together these technologies enabled a new class of off-the-shelf IoT deployment that some of the worlds largest organizations—like Parker Hannifin and West Pharmaceutical Inc.—trust to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.
