With a fully facilitated 160sqm ground floor studio in the heart of Kreuzberg complete with 6x6x4m Infinity curve overhead rigging Edit suite kitchen and green room facilities combined with a varied database of talent a broad spectrum of technical and practical resources and years of cumulative film experience we are able to minister to almost all our filming requirements in house. Acutely aware of the needs of all types of productions Filmcake can compliment any production from conception to inception or any stage therein. Filmcake studios is an effort to fuse all facets of production be they creative practical technical or logistical in an attempt to achieve a symbiotic film-making culture.
The strategem of Oliver Valente and Benjamin Lagos Filmcakes roots stretch back to the red brick and gnarled back alleys of Notting Hill London. Frustrated by the lack of truly original and creative bespoke video content as well as the absence of streamlined production facilities and capabilities a small spare room was converted into the
Benjamin is of Tahitian/Chilean descent and was raised in New Zealand. He is a film school graduate with a deep-rooted background in visual arts. He is an experienced cameraman editor and director and has a well-rounded knowledge of production including underwater filming and working with mixed mediums. His documentary film projects have seen him travel the world over and include: Innovation and Technology: New Zealand Burma Unveiled and commercials for mens fashion label O.Ballou and sailing company Cruise Bali – shot on location in Tahiti and Indonesia.
Of Scottish/Italian descent but born and raised in East Africa Oliver has worked on various productions all over the world. A director and cinematographer but equally adept to cutting Oliver has credits ranging from productions for MTV Live Sports Broadcasting at the Olympics Emmy award winning reality TV shows commercials and feature films. Oliver has various awards and nominations including from the Zanzibar International Film Festival and the British Television and Advertising Awards.
