Prior to founding Garrison Street he was managing principal of Nobska Partners LLC a private equity fund established to invest in and operate lower-middle market companies. He sourced and evaluated hundreds of investment opportunities negotiated and structured deal terms and raised capital to fund these investments. He was a Vice President in Strategic Business Development at JPMorgan Chase in New York where he led teams responsible for managing acquisition venture divestiture and strategic alliance activities. At Morgan Stanley he was involved in venture investing and strategic planning.
As a management consultant at Mitchell Madison Group and the strategy group at Deloitte Consulting he advised senior management of Fortune 100 companies on growth initiatives including product launches scenario planning and analysis and general corporate strategy.
Additionally he has operated a health services company and has worked with businesses in healthcare financial services education life sciences technology apparel and media. Evan earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in finance and marketing and graduated with honors from Trinity College with a BA in economics and French.
Cliff currently works as finance director at VSA Partners a private equity-owned brand strategy and design consultancy. Prior to VSA he spent time at Smith Whiley amp; Company a provider of junior capital to lower middle market companies where he reviewed over 170 private investment opportunities in business services manufacturing and healthcare valued at over $6 billion. He was actively involved at the board level with five portfolio companies with combined revenues in excess of $220 million.
Prior to Smith Whiley Cliff worked at the Chicago Urban League Entrepreneurship Center where he ran and helped launch the Centers flagship nextONE program a business acceleration programs for minority entrepreneurs. Cliff started his career with stints as senior financial analyst at American Express Financial Advisors and equity analyst at Holland Capital Management L.P.
Additionally he ran a standalone retail outlet restoring a store that lost money for five consecutive years to profitability only 15 months after taking over. Cliff graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Florida Aamp;M University. He also holds an MBA in entrepreneurship finance and management amp; strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Bryan Lord is an experienced high-technology business leader with cross-functional expertise in venture finance intellectual property business development and corporate strategy.
Previously Bryan served in senior management roles with a variety of leading high-technology firms including: DEKA Research amp; Development Corp. the Ramp;D company founded by inventor Dean Kamen where he oversaw new ventures and technology commercialization the U.S. Department of Energys Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge Tennessee UT-Battelle where he served as Director of Technology Commercialization and MIT spin-out AmberWave Systems Corp. in Salem New Hampshire where he served as Vice President of Finance and Licensing.
Bryan began his career as a corporate attorney at the leading high-technology law firm of Testa Hurwitz amp; Thibeault LLP in Boston. Bryan holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania a JD from Notre Dame Law School in South Bend Indiana where he was an editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and a BA from Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota.
