Without God helping us along and family to help us out we would not be here today. Our family and friends have been instrumental in making this work. We currently have several family members working for us and many more helping us out part time when needed. We eventually had to hire on more people to handle the workload but they are more like family than employees. We are surrounded by great people.
We started as a 2 person company and now have many employees but the hard work and dedication it took to grow the business is still part of every team member that works on your order. We appreciate your business very much.

While we may seem far away for some locations we offer Free Delivery to all of the United States. We can handle all the details over email and phone to get your order correct and delivered to you or a venue. Whats better than getting an order delivered to your doorstep for free!
Our screen printing and embroidery equipment is state of the art and completely automated. This automation assures you of consistent print quality throughout your order. We have the ability to screen print up to 10 colors and embroider up to 9 colors of embroidery. Each of our printing presses can produce hundreds of shirts per hour. While you may not need a 1000 shirts…no problem we do small orders as well.
Our artists and art department are here to help with any design work that you may need. We check each job before it is produced for any potential conflicts or problems. We offer free product mockups and free digital samples to you before we produce your order so there is a peace of mind when ordering from us.
So no matter how big or small your order is you can be assured that the best people using the best equipment are getting your job done.
What we do?
Screen printing embroidery and promotional giveaway products. We can do small orders of just a few pieces up to thousands of pieces. We tell our customers that we pretty much do anything within reason.
Why we started this business?
I worked for Suttons for several years before being hired on at
Futureshirts in 2000. I worked there for 11 years until they were bought out and moved to Nashville Tenn.
The gentleman who owned the building that Futureshirts rented also owned the screen printing equipment. When Futureshirts moved it didnt take any of its equipment or supplies so we made a deal with the owner on the equipment and the rental and away we went. As my wife and I discussed starting our own company we prayed a lot and kept seeing God open doors for us. Every day something new would show itself and we knew that God was giving us the green light. That was a pretty good indication that we should continue forward with Mosaic Threads.
It was a bit scary opening a large shop with two automated presses one manual and two embroidery machines when there is quite a bit of competition in Billings already. My wife and I arent really risk takers but it was amazing how everything fell into place. I basically went from working for Futureshirts one day and the next as the owner of Mosaic Threads. It was wild.
Getting to know our customers and what they do is most of the fun in all of this. I always ask a lot of questions and make sure our customers are getting exactly what they want or even more.
Where did startup funding come from?
We used money that we had saved and had a couple of credit cards that we used to buy goods. The gentleman who leased us the equipment and building also gave us a very generous discount on our payments for six months and that allowed us to get a jump on our cash flow. We were able to pay ourselves back within nine months. Being debt-free is very important to us.
Whats your five-year plan for the business?
We want to be a leader in the screen print embroidery and promotional marketplace and capitalize on our reputation for quality products and service. We love living in Billings and want to find more ways to give back to the community through fundraisers and charitable events.
In order to be a leader in this area we are constantly exploring innovative ways to improve our performance and quality of our products and the satisfaction of our customers
Above all our goal every day and for years to come is to always conduct ourselves and the work we do in a manner that exemplifies integrity and strong ethical values and glorifies God.
A question you would ask other entrepreneurs?
One of the big questions I ask myself and I like to ask others is ’Why are you in business?’ If your only reason is to make money I think you missed the boat. I think making money is just a side benefit of being able to help people in whatever manner of work you are in all the while conducting yourself in a manner that is honoring to God.
If you werent doing what you are now what would be your dream job?
If you would have asked me 10 years ago what my dream job was I would not have said owning a business. But now I cant think of anything else I would rather be doing. I get to work with my family and friends and enjoy it.

If you receive an order that is defective or flawed in any way and doesnt match up to what you approved we will make sure we fix the problem as quick as possible. You may return items within 15 days of receiving your order. We love it when customers refer us to other people and talk about how easy it was to work with us.

Screen printing is a process of adding a color or multiple colors to a substrate like a shirt. This technique uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil to receive a desired image. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A squeegee is moved across the screen stencil forcing ink into the mesh openings for transfer to the shirt during the squeegee stroke. Basically it is the process of using a stencil to apply ink on to the shirt.
Screens are placed on a press that allows the different colors to be registered with each other and printed together. Once the machine is set up on the the automated press we can print hundreds of shirts per hour. Mosaic Threads has two fully automated presses that allow us to set-up and print in mass quantities. Dont sweat the small stuff we also has manual printers to be able to handle smaller orders or sporting apparel.
When a design is going to be printed on darker items a base print may be required to ensure that the colors maintain their vivacity. A base color (usually white) is applied wherever the final print is desired; it is then flash-cured and the subsequent colors are printed on top. This flash-curing technique adds another step to the process but ensures strong prints on on dark or even black materials.
The item is then sent on a conveyor belt through a large dryer. The apparel is heated to a certain temp for an exact amount of time to cure the ink onto the shirt. This curing process ensures that the inks drys and adheres to the apparel. Properly cured inks will remain on the printed substrate even under harsh conditions.
