PLIM is a software program capable of calculating the limit of the water injection pressure in a reservoir utilizing as the injection pressure limit the criteria of faults reactivation of such reservoir. Using geometric parameters from the reservoir and from the reservoir faults, the software searches in a data base with results from mechanical analysis executed before, in finite elements, the areas in which the injection
pressure exceeds the limit pressure.The modeling and the development of the calculus methodology for these critical pressures is the product of research and development made by Petrobras.
Deepsoft developed for Petrobras, in the form of a plug-in, a pre and post PLIM (Petrobras) software processor into the Schlumberger Petrel software. In this plug-in, the result of the Eclipse oil reservoir simulations are imported and the data is analyzed by the Petrobras software (PLIM). The plug-in also has a robust result inspection interactive tool that allows the user to easily navigate between the PLIM software results, all this through some simple clicks in the 3D reservoir models.
