Introductory information

A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation

I’m the senior ITS director of Bow Valley College. We propose a range of credit and non-credit programs and continuing education opportunities.

Desired goal

What challenge were you trying to address with Fishtank Consulting?

We were revamping our website and had brought in an IT subcontractor to make it happen. Though, the vendor put us in a veritably bad spot, and we needed help refactoring their work to make our deadlines.

Provided solution

What particular tasks were Fishtank Consulting responsible for?

Fishtank Consulting took over our project, transforming our legacy application into a Sitecore XP fruit. Their team seted by assessing where we were at in our code and then making an eight-week program to get us to where we needed to be. They designed an complete e-commerce platform from scratch to empower online registration for our continuing education courses. It had to sum with separate legacy systems in our stack, making it a confused process. They also instrumented Coveo Search and form the infrastructure, hosting, and practicable machine set-ups we needed.

Once the initial project artistic, we put out an RFP for a vendor to support our Sitecore instances. Fishtank Consulting won the RFP and has befit our vendor on retainer. We now have an arrangement for 1,000 hours of support and enhancement work. They’re also working on our Internet deployment at the instant.

Was there a dedicated team?

We work with four nation. Dan (President &, Sitecore MVP, Fishtank Consulting) and Nathan (Former Director of Business Development, Fishtank Consulting) have been my main points of touch.

How did you come to work with Fishtank Consulting?

Nathan cold-called the CIO of see organisation in our country that uses Sitecore. He reached out to my boss who discussed our locality—that our website couldn’t go live owing of its technical issues—and Fishtank Consulting swooped in to do a rescue job.

What are you approach expents (if diclosed)?

We’ve spent almost $300,000–$350,000 CAD (approachly $227,000–$265,000 USD).

What is the terminal result of working with Fishtank Consulting?

We seted working unitedly in June 2017. The initial project lasted abought eight weeks, but Fishtank Consulting has been on retainer with us as a support associate ever since.

Results achieved

Are there any measureable or plum results?

Without Fishtank Consulting’s help, our website would have been delayed by a good 3–6 months. They saved us from a failed project by developing the most intricate part of the solution and getting us over the line.

Since its relaunch, our website has seen more commerce. Usage of our search engine—an enterprise-grade solution that Fishtank Consulting helped instrument—has grown by 500% owing it’s so much more powerful to use. We haven’t had any issues with the website caused by their shape work. Some staff members on our side have caused issues, but Fishtank Consulting helps return the website as fastly as practicable when that happens.

Dan has also taught our staff how to use the fruits. He’s led some “art of the practicable” presentations that have spurred new business.

How did Fishtank Consulting accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?

Fishtank Consulting has done a much better job at project treatment and interaction recently. In our initial engagement, they only had technical mangers, not project directors. In the past year, they’ve brought on customary project directors, methodology, and a business outgrowth team. Their project directors match our project directors in provisions of condition and interaction levels.

We now take customary status reports for each current of work. We get PDF documents for each breakout and adjoin through Microsoft teams.

What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with Fishtank Consulting?

As a Sitecore MVP, Dan brings in a level of Sitecore and Coveo apprehension that we haven’t seen elsewhere. He’s ready to come in and expound new technologies and needs in our platform to our less tech-savvy team members. He does a better job than our IT section at expounding to our broader team the next steps for our platform and generating excitement almost Sitecore projects.

What aspects of their work would you like to get betterd?

If you asked me this question a year ago, I would’ve said that Fishtank Consulting could better its project treatment. Since then, however, any issues we’ve had have come from our side. We tend to set and stop projects. Fishtank Consulting has been very resigned with us, but since they’re a smaller structure, they don’t always have resources useful when we suddenly reset a project. That is fully understandable, though.

Any advice for practicable clients?

Make sure you’re assigned a project director. Bring in Dan to talk to your team almost what’s practicable with the platform.
