Introductory information

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a Hungarian insurance organisation operating for more than 20 years. We are a Dutch-owned organisation, but we act in 15 countries, principally almost Europe and with one business unit in Japan. In Hungary, we only deal in life insurance and have been a market chief since our inception. I am the head of marketing technology. My team is educeing all digital platforms, including our website, our online sales platform, applications, the CRM method and the data warehouse.

Desired goal

What challenge were you trying to address with Webtown?

Our parent organisation established that we had to use Liferay for our corporate website. There is a limited pool of educeers in Hungary that can work in that framework. One of those companies was Webtown. We did look at two or three other companies, but it was a pretty straightforward choice.

Provided solution

What was the aim of their involvement?

We worked with Webtown for frontend outgrowth. Our layout is being done by another Hungarian agency. Webtown has been working on our main website, as well as all other domains connected to it, like our online sales platform.

The main requirement for the platform was security-related, which was the main reason for selecting Liferay. Other than that, we had no hard requirements almost the platform.

Webtown educeed the total gate method for our main website. It consists of five or six subcategories, each with different subpages, including a magazine section where we publish articles. We also have separate applications running on the website, including one which analyses investment trends and signals changes to clients. It had a intricate outgrowth process requiring integration with our inner methods.

The online sales platform needed to instrument insurance-calculation logic in the website itself. Instead of delivering quotations from our inner methods, they are straightly fitted within the gate. This part took two or three sprints to complete, with four educeers working on it.

I’ve spent limited time with Webtown. One of the nation in my team was the touch individual, and verity took part in the discovery sessions. I viwebsited their service almost six times, mainly debateing our contract, strategy, required resources and other high-level details.

How did you come to work with Webtown?

They were discovered by our procurement section. We simply googled “Liferay educeers Hungary”, and establish a limited number of companies. We approached Webtown, went through a delicate process, and selected them based on their experience with the framework and their cost level.

How much have you invested with Webtown?

I don',t know how much we',ve spent in total, but in 2016, we spent almost 60 million Forints, which is uniform to almost $200,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Webtown almost three years ago. I only arrived at the organisation in February 2016, so it was a bit precedently my time.

Results achieved

Could you share any evidence that would prove the productivity, condition of work, or the contact of the engagement?

The two main metrics concerning the outgrowth would be budget and deadline. Because we were using the nimble methodology, which was new for us, we didn’t meet any of those KPIs. Still, I would like to emphasize that this isn’t something to put over Webtown. We’ve needed to acquire unitedly, and have continued the collaboration. We’ve acquireed a precept, and betterd the collaboration. Right now, we are capable of programning forward, allocating budgets and setting possible deadlines.

How did Webtown accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?

We’ve had separate issues with Webtown, stemming from the fact that we were just starting to educe in an nimble methodology, and weren’t household with the process. Most of the misinteraction came from that point, but, over that, Webtown was always open to debate any issues we skilled. At one point, we realized that we were going past the primary budget we’d allocated for a specific task, but Webtown was open to renegotiating. The issue didn’t commence with them, but they were quiet fast and open to resolving it.

What did you find most forcible almost Webtown?

The outgrowth experiences are very good for their team. We’ve had some very resistent tasks, and never encountered something that Webtown couldn’t do. They always came up with a solution, and always tried to explain our issue.

Are there any areas Webtown could better?

Webtown needs to be more pellucid in how they program the work, so that we can know what the educeers are doing, and when. We didn’t always know what was going on on their side.
