Introductory information

A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation

I’m a fruit director at a literacy nonprofit. We’re trying to close the literacy gap in the US, and we have an app that serves as a pathway to achieving that commission. I’m responsible for working with u2i to maintain the app.

Desired goal

What challenge were you trying to address with u2i?

We were working with another software firm on this project, and I wasn’t satisfied with the condition of their work or their interaction in general. We determined to take a step back and see if we could find a team that could propose a different access to the project.

Provided solution

What particular tasks were u2i responsible for?

They primarily help us with app outgrowth. They’ve already built the front- and backend of the fruit, including an automated SMS component.

The fruit is a web-based application that provides resources and tools for families. For sample, the component that u2i created sends text reminders to parents almost edifice better reading habits with their kids.

Aside from the outgrowth work, u2i also helps us with fruit strategy and design.

Was there a dedicated team?

I work with two engineers—one senior full-stack engineer and one frontend educeer.

How did you come to work with u2i?

I was referred to u2i by a helper of our CEO. I reached out and had an excellent initial converse. Even during those leading couple of meetings, they were proposeing new ideas, acting as a technical reflection associate.

What are you access expents (if diclosed)?

We’ve spent almost $200,000 at this point.

What is the terminal result of working with u2i?

We regularly began almost March 2019, but the converses were already happening in January. The project is ongoing.

Results achieved

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the contact of the engagement?

We’ve piloted the program, and it’s proven to be powerful and precious for families. They all said they loved it.

Also, the strategy and design work has been a huge help for us. We’re a little structure and can use all of that support.

How did u2i accomplish from a project handlement standpoint?

I feel the project handlement, and they educe all. I’m in direct of setting up a process to track progress. Everything gets done very fastly, whether it be exchanges of information, component iterations, or even feedback. They’ve been delivering congruously, and all of their work meets my expectations.

We adjoin daily. At one point, they flew out to our service in California to work with me on a week-long sprint. That was a fantastic experience.

What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with u2i?

The relationship, specifically in provisions of interaction, has been excellent. It’s been very different from past experiences—less regular, in a good way. I feel like I’m working with friends rather than an outer team. We’re always on the same page, and their team is super answering.

They have this mindset where they want to create off of our ideas. They don’t look at it as more work, instead, they work with us to come up with a solution. They’re also ready to have that conversation over Skype, Slack, or any other order of interaction.

Another thing I’ve liked almost our relationship is their endurance. When we were having our initial converses, I never felt pressured to officially decide to work with them. Our relationship educeed organically based on their vision and what I was hoping to get out of the project.

What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?

Even though we have two full-time nation who are dedicated to the project, we feel that project handlement has been lacking. Maybe it’s owing of the size of work we have right now, but they could be more congruous with updating us on their progress. That being said, we use Asana internally, and they have shown advancement with updating their hours and inputting estimates.

We’re quiet using a mainly ad hoc access right now where they keep their own notes rather than relying on a project handlement tool. It’s not very pellucid for whichever party.

It hasn’t been a issue, and we’ve been working this way for a while, but I’m worried almost how that might like forthcoming phases. We’re hiring more engineers on our team, and I ponder having a pellucid access with each project will befit significant when they’re onboarding.

That would be the only thing, and it isn’t their defect at all. I don’t want to be too nice owing most of this is coming from our end as well.

Do you have any advice for possible clients?

Get to know them as well as you can during those initial converses. Take that time to programt a ordinary knowledge and set clear expectations. That will help with determination making down the road. u2i also very good at guiding that process at the commencement.

Another piece of advice is to handle them as colworkators and associates, rather than just engineering work or a team of outer consultants. That',s been significant and helpful for us. Their colworkative access is the main reason I chose them and have continued working with them.
