Management System Dev & QA for Business Consulting Firm

Please find under a summary covering project details and feedback. The innate facts are kept as they are, private information is amended.

Introductory information

Please draw your structure.

We are a relatively pliant business consulting firm serving financial advisors during their transitions periods. Basically, when a financial advisor no longer wants to be an employee of a bigger financial advisory house, we help them set an independent business. We help them with anything from labor supplies, all the way up to finding real lands, hiring employees, and technology determinations, including employee equipment and internet labor setup. We try to help as much as practicable to get them a turnkey solution for seting their own business. It’s a lot of technical and operational work.

I am Director of Business Operations, and my role is to handle any manner software outgrowth both in-house and for our clients.

Desired goal

What business challenge were you trying to address with Honeycomb Software?

We had been trying to find a good off-the-shelf package to help us handle all of these client transition projects. We had tried a few different things leading up to the promisement with Honeycomb, including mannerizations on existing methods like Method and Salesforce, but nothing seemed to work precisely how we needed it to. We made the determination to set edifice a manner solution in-house, and we were using some independent contractors leading up to that point. Things were going okay, but we knew we needed a pliant bit more space from engineering, and especially the QA side of things. That’s why we seted looking for some accessional resources.

Provided solution

Please draw the aim of their involvement in wonderfuler detail.

We were looking for one mid-level .NET engineer with frontend, backend, and database experience, including HTML, Javascript, CSS, and the AngularJS framework specifically.

We were also looking for a dedicated QA individual that would verity handle all of the testing aspects of the method. We ended up getting three engineers and one full time QA. A lot of it just had to do with availability, and also condition of the initial nation that we had on board. We did not want to just have a freelancer that would take order, go off and create something, and then be done. I veritably wanted to find nation or an agency that would be more than just staff increase. I wanted them to be considered part of this project team, and that’s precisely how it’s been working. They’ve integrated well with our organisation.

The application is a web-based project handlement tool that helps keep all of our tasks organized and helps us handle the data being captured. So, we use the method not only for the transition projects that I mentioned, but also for data retention later on. As we’re doing support for these clients, we have this repository of information that we can attribute to from a support standpoint. The application had already been seted, and a few iterations had been released at the time that we seted to promise Honeycomb, but they kind of picked it up and took off with it. It just continues to grow and better in provisions of accomplishment. It’s innately a project handlement usefulness tool, plus a data repository method.

How did you come to work with Honeycomb Software?

We seted using Upwork to find independent contractors, which is how we establish Honeycomb.

We talked to three or four different agencies, in accession to 10-12 independent guys, and Honeycomb rose to the top pretty fast just based on their experience and availability. Their posture and demeanor were very good. They left a real impression fast during those searches.

Could you prepare a perception of the size of this start in financial provisions?

$10,000-$50,000.

What is the terminal result of working with ?

We seted working with them almost May or June 2016, and have been working unitedly since.

Results achieved

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this promisement?

Because this is considered a commission nice application for us, I would say Honeycomb is contributing heavily to the achievement. They have not only been implicated with helping educe new features, but they’ve also gone back and helped do a full suite of retreat tests and place a big number of bugs that were in the method previously. They’ve helped us not only unite those but also fix them along the way.

They’ve also been contributing heavily to the underlying architecture of the method, which is improving the functionality from a maintainability standpoint as well. It’s veritably helped us better the overall stability and long-term maintainability of the application.

How did Honeycomb Software accomplish from a project handlement standpoint?

We veritably wanted someone to come in and be integrated tightly into the team here, instead of just staff increase. We dictated to them that we wanted to act in an Agile way, including a Scrum process see one day.

They’re 7 or 8 hours forward of us owing they’re in Ukraine, but have remained pliant. They have aligned themselves with our project handlement phraseology pretty easily. That said though, I’d like to ponder that from a outgrowth project standpoint, we are operating on a pretty measure Agile methodology platform. It wasn’t that big of a extend for them to fit in owing they had some experience with Agile and Scrum leading up to this.

Is there anything Honeycomb Software could have betterd or done differently?

I don’t have a good reply for that one. I’ve been pretty lucky with the cadence so far. They were extremely pliant with fitting into our handlement phraseology. They’re pliant in the perception that if I have to make changes throughout the order of a given sprint, they don’t dubitate to help out.

Do you have any recommendations for others owing working with Honeycomb Software?

We act using Agile and Scrum, and I ponder they fit into that methodology excellently well owing they are contractors. My advice would be to try using Agile in a very congruous and forceful way owing it works very well with them.

I substantiate there is a time zone separation, which is one of the challenges we typically have here owing we are in the Midwest and they’re in Ukraine. Prepare yourself agreeably, and work within that immure, and things will go well.

I ponder a lot of nation are worried almost overall interaction when working with an offshore firm. I will say that their English has been extremely well, and there hasn’t veritably been much of a interaction effect.
