Some details
Stephen Parsons, Development Manager at Orbus Software, speaking about their experience of working with N-iX to build a Dedicated Development Team in Lviv.
Founded in 2004 and headquartered in London, Orbus Software is an independent software vendor and a leading global provider of software solutions for Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Analysis and Application Portfolio Management. Orbus Software
creates products that extend and enhance the Microsoft applications used by millions of people every day: Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project Server. Orbus Software has a global customer base which spans North and South America, EMEA, Australasia and Asia-Pacific regions and encompasses both public and private sector verticals.Quality assurance in a distributed environment (Orbus Software development office is located in London) is challenging, especially when you deal with the complex software solution like iServer. It requires well-managed communication, significant background knowledge, and analytic thinking to plan, organize and maintain quality control processes. N-iX Dedicated QA team started the project in close cooperation with Orbus UK-based developers, quickly became an integral extension of the client’s in-house team and proved that it can perform complicated tasks and be responsible for the result. N-iX professionals learned about the technology stacks and business-side of the project using minimum of documentation. They are active participants of quality assurance processes providing proper estimates and requirements clarifications.
At the moment, our team of testers performs all quality assurance operations connected with iServer Suite and a new Orbus product which is currently under development. These operations include:
• Test planning
• Test design
• Test execution
• Evaluation and reporting.
Since the cooperation has initiated, a dedicated team at N-iX has found multiple bugs of various severity and provided the customer with full information about the product quality. Due to the growing volume of work, this year our QA team has grown from four to twelve people and expanded its activity to marketing and tech support.
