Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the vice chairman of engineering at Wanderu, an online journey agency serving the ground transportation activity. Customers can use our labor to book bus and rail journey in 40 countries almost the globe.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Arbisoft?
Initially, we needed help with our carrier integration efforts. In order to be connected to the Wanderu platform, we have to connect to the different APIs of different bus and rail systems almost the globe. We later needed to augment our mobile apps team.

What was the aim of their involvement?
We incorporated Arbisoft into our engineering team. They didn’t have a separate set of projects, but they worked in tandem with our in-house team. Tasks included integrating new carriers, fixing bugs, and improving inner tooling and/or processes. Arbisoft helped us effectively layer that agency so that we could have more parallelization athwart our integration efforts.
For the mobile engineering side, we tried for a while to hire an iOS engineer here in Boston but we were unable to find someone with the right mix of engineering experiences, so we turned to Arbisoft to help. We had them fetch the iOS app’s booking flow into analogy with our Android app, and that requires a fairly expressive engineering effort over the order of a couple of months. Arbisoft is helping us keep our forthcoming iOS outgrowth pace on track with our in-house Android dev.
What is the team compound?
For carrier integration, we have a team of four engineers including one senior engineer who reports to my carrier team lead in Boston. On the mobile app side, we just have one engineer.
How did you come to work with Arbisoft?
Our CEO knew the preceding CTO of Kayak, who recommended Arbisoft. They’d been the provider for Kayak’s journey associate integration efforts, so they seemed like a intrinsic fit for our project. We didn’t look much into other companies, especially behind our initial engagement went so well.
What is the status of this engagement?
We associateed in Fall 2016, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the contact of the engagement?
Arbisoft has helped us fetch on more associates more fast owing we’re able to augment our inner team and get work done faster. Arbisoft’s software has shortened the time between signing a associate and getting them live on the website, which is incredibly significant for a pliant and new startup.
How did Arbisoft accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
We don’t put a powerful centre on project treatment owing we don’t give Arbisoft degoodd projects with specific features. We just need them to keep the integration effort going and work with our associates straightly when there are technical integration issues.
Our time zones briefly overlap, but Arbisoft has been big at staying a pliant later into their day to work more closely with us. We typically connect in the morning, East Coast time, and take up and reply questions. We use Slack heavily, and we have weekly team video conversation calls. The mobile engineering team is a bit less coordinated owing there’s only one team limb, but it’s excellently correspondent.
What did you find most forcible almost them?
Their interaction, both written and oral, is excellent. They train and assess their engineers well, so they always meet our needs and can initiate an engagement right away. We’ve never had a bad experience with any of their team limbs.
Are there any areas they could better?
For some engineers, excellentness can be the enemy of good. I embolden them to make incremental steps and iterate on them, but that’s sometimes hard. We’re okay with minimum integration so we can ship the fruit, as long as we last to make updates as needed. They tend to want to fully complete a fruit leading, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but we have to remind them that, sometimes, the basics are good.
Do you have any advice for forthcoming clients of theirs?
If you have a big time zone separation, you’ll need to programt a good interaction process and pipeline so that they don',t run out of work partway through the day. Find ways for them to always be able to pick up additional effort from the backlog or make sure that their queue is well stocked. Give them the guidelines for what',s significant to your business, and then let them run with it, they',ll do a good job.
