Rinat Aruh is the co-founder and CEO of Aruliden an award-winning agency that specializes in product design branding and creative strategy from zero to launch. Headquartered in New York with offices in San Francisco and Amsterdam Aruliden works with the world#39;s greatest visionaries to reimagine industries and create businesses that matter.
Rinat co-founded Aruliden with Johan Liden in 2006. Under her leadership Aruliden has grown significantly and now designs develops and produces brand creative and products for a diverse range of sectors including technology wellness and consumer goods. Rinat counsels Fortune 100 companies and startups including Google BULGARI Whoop Supergoop! and Backdrop among others. Under her stewardship Aruliden has produced award-winning work that informs the brands of tomorrow and creates products that are proven to change how people live work and play.
Rinats mission and passion are rooted in design - specifically introducing design thinking into early education as a methodology for creative problem solving. Rinat brought this vision to life by working with schools across the country teaching and exposing kids to understand the value of design as a problem-solving tool in our everyday world. Rinats passion for design education has also led her to teach brand product and experience as part of SVA#39;s prestigious MFA program. In addition to education Rinat and Aruliden are passionate about elevating minority founders by offering pro-bono design services to help accelerate the growth of their brands.
Rinat brings a unique perspective with her global experience of people culture design and business strategy. She has been recognized by Fast Company and Graphic Design US as one of the most creative people in business. Her agency#39;s work has received accolades from IDEA Red Dot Design Award ICFF and Good Design Awards among others. Rinat has been invited to speak at notable platforms including TEDxNYED IDSA International Conferences and the National Association of Independent Schools conference.
Before founding Aruliden Rinat served in executive marketing roles at the GAP and BMW MINI. A graduate of Boston University#39;s Ouestrom School of Business Rinat lives in New York City with her family.
Johan Liden is an industrial designer and entrepreneur whose passion for developing innovative new products and bringing thoughful solutions to clients has resulted in award-winning work. In 2006 he founded Aruliden with Rinat Aruh combining their expertise in product design and marketing to pioneer a new approach they coined Producting™. With clients that range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies Aruliden brings a unique perspective to the creative process believing marketing and design should work together to create a cohesive brand experience for consumers. Liden has worked with companies such as PUMA Google Starbucks Neutrogena Bernhardt Design and Whoop.
Originally from Sweden Johan began his experience in the United States by helping build Fuseproject a San Francisco based design firm where he worked for clients such as Birkenstock Nike BMW Nissan Herman Miller and Microsoft. Liden later joined MAC Cosmetics a division of the Estee Lauder Group where he was responsible for developing multiple product lines. He was also invited to develop special product categories including the Sean John fragrance which was one of the most succesful fragrance introductions to date. He was subsequently recruited by Nike#39;s Converse division where he was responsible for shaping some of the most successful products we see today in the marketplace.
Bringing new design directions and explorations within Aruliden#39;s core product line as well as introducing new platforms Liden#39;s work has been internationally recognized in museums press and competitions alike.
Marc works hands-on with the studios clients to create new products services and businesses that engage people in meaningful ways. He has worked in close partnership with the founders of numerous startups and with leaders of organizations including Apple Audi Coca-Cola Kate Spade Levis LOreal Nordstrom Target and Tiffany amp; Co. among others.
Prior to Aruliden Marc was Co-Founder of VBP Orange and a design lead at IDEO where he led product and service innovation programs for clients including Diageo Marriott Hotels and Procter and Gamble.
Marc has appeared as a guest speaker and judge for design industry events and his work has been featured in Bloomberg Business Week The New York Times and Vanity Fair.
Marc is a graduate of The College of Creative Studies where he studied art direction and photography. An avid collector Marc can occasionally be found uncrating his latest find in the studio.
Spencer is a New York City native with 20 years experience in brand building and digital design. His work is guided by a passion to help transform brands and craft experiences that people love.
Spencer started his career at Ogilvy#39;s Brand Integration Group (BIG). There he cut his teeth working on brand design initiatives for clients such as Coke American Express and Motorola.
In 2005 Spencer co-founded Brooklyn-based creative agency Apartment One. As creative director he ensured all work was strategically sound conceptually inspiring and creatively powerful. Select clients include Google Poppin Rock The Vote Brooks Brothers and Atlantic Records.
Following 12 years at Apartment One Spencer co-founded Tendr a digital cash gifting platform for lifes important occasions. There he spent 5 years leading a cross-functional team on all brand and product design efforts.
Spencer studied design at School of Visual Arts collects classic house vinyl and currently lives in Hastings on Hudson with his wife and two daughters.
Michael believes brands have the power to shape culture. His practice merges strategic insights with creative expression to build brands that have influence. He is a multi-disciplinary designer with expertise in creative strategy visual identity systems digital media and environmental design. Prior to joining Aruliden Michael has led design teams at Redscout Wolff Olins and 2x4 where he worked with clients including AirBnB Prada Miu Miu Neiman Marcus Google Herman Miller Hyatt and MTV. His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art AIGA/NY and White Columns Gallery. Michael is an active design advocate and former AIGA/NY board member. He has been adjunct faculty at Parsons School of Design Pratt Institute and a visiting critic at Yale School of Art.
Kris leads the strategy practice at Aruliden. She deeply enjoys finding ways to unlock creativity whether its an approach to research problem-solving or working collaboratively with clients.
Her path has been unconventional. She completed an undergraduate degree in Womens Studies at Mount Holyoke College then continued her studies to receive a Master of Science in Community Development at UC Davis with a specialization in Ethnic and Cultural Diversity. A decade later in an effort to make a major career shift she completed an MBA with a concentration in brand strategy at The Johnson School at Cornell University.
The first half of Kriss career she designed and directed experiential education programs for youth in the nonprofit sector of San Francisco Bay Area and Washington DC. The real magic happened when Kris realized that the skills she honed working with teenagers and grant makers were impactful when used in collaboration with designers and clients. Group facilitation co-creation and participatory design quickly found their way into her approach to design research strategy innovation workshops and client engagements.
Prior to Aruliden Kris was a Design Strategist and UX Architect at Microsoft Principal Brand Strategist at frog design and Strategy Director at Hornall Anderson in Seattle WA. She#39;s worked on brands across industries including Frito-Lay Quaker McKesson AMD Wyndham Worldwide REI and Eloquii.
Since joining Aruliden in 2013 Nick has played an integral role within the Industrial Design Team working on projects that span technology and consumer electronics lifestyle and home and fashion and beauty. As an Associate Director of Industrial Design Nick focuses on delivering beautiful engaging and meaningful products to market.
Collaborating with clients like MoMA Google LG Verizon HUGO BOSS and Lacoste among others Nick has been recognized for his work by IDSA Red Dot Good Design and GDUSA.
Brett brings his experience in leading design initiatives at New York agencies such as ECCO Design and Smart Design and also worked in-house at LG Electronics where he helped define the design direction and strategy for many US focused future technology experiences. He joined the Aruliden team to more deeply explore the connection between product design strategy and brand experience.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest Dan began his career at Fuseproject in San Francisco and has been with the Aruliden team since 2014. His unique experience and affinity for design excellence allow him to span across a wide range of industries from consumer electronics lifestyle accessories and packaging to high-end furniture and environments. His work with brands such as Lacoste Gigi Hadid X Maybelline MiniLuxe Swarovski Prada Herman Miller and SodaStream has garnered awards and recognition in the design industry.
Gillian has worked in-house with brands Bumble and bumble Kate Spade Saturday and Victorias Secret PINK as well as with New York agencies Mother Anomaly and Hudson Rouge. These experiences have given her the opportunity to lead and tackle design and branding problems across numerous categories from hair beauty fashion and furniture to meal kits and cars. She joined Aruliden to lead design initiatives in the beauty category—a return to her first and favorite.
Rogerio is originally from Brazil where he founded the Mopa studio before moving to New York City in 2009. In New York he joined forces with Syrup as Art Director and guided the Puma team there to several award winnings campaigns including the PUMA Unity initiative which won a Yellow Pencil at the Damp;AD. In 2011 Rogerio was invited by HP to create a series of unique artist artworks to be released with every new computer HP produced. Rogerio has also been extensively recognized by his industry peers - he was recently a featured speaker at Trimarchi DG – one of the biggest design conferences in the world.
