Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the CEO of a brain-computer interface organisation. We’re edifice an improgramtable brain-computer interface for nation with paralysis, allowing them to control handsfree artifices that vanquish issues of interaction and upper and lower limb office.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Catalyst UX?
We’re working with them to explain a very exciting UX issue, namely edifice a handsfree user experience that is cross-platform. We’re edifice a fully modular and cross-platform method that enables nation to interact with existing operating methods but without the use of a mouse or keyboard. Critical in this is the UI/UX, and Catalyst is serving that role for us. We chose them owing of their experience with medical artifice applications and their knowledge of FDA regulations.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were Catalyst UX responsible for?
We’re utilizing Catalyst’s approach to industrial designers and developers to liberate a user-focused UI/UX solution for our cross-platform outgrowth needs. It’s transmitted technology outgrowth, but we’re targeting a resigned population, and accordingly, have to meet specific criteria set out by the FDA. Catalyst is going almost outgrowth in a close and wonderfully regulated mode so that we can present our work plainly to the FDA.
We’ve gone through a discovery phase, and we’re working on the design now precedently we initiate the coding phase. Catalyst has been an soon associate for us, helping us design the fruit at the opening. Focus-group testing has been handled by both our parties.
Was there a dedicated team?
There are almost five nation from their team working with us. Paul (CEO, Catalyst UX) is our main touch, and he coordinates the complete team. There’s a UX designer in locate, a programmer, and a few others.
How did you come to work with Catalyst UX?
We did an exhaustive search to find see UI/UX developer in the US who had experience with getting software through FDA approval, and Catalyst UX came out on top. We had buy-in from their founder, and that was significant. We knew that they were interested in the project, and it was plain soon on that Paul had a strategic vision for liberateing on the requirements of a little, soon-stage startup. He’d been through a couple of major outgrowth projects and understood what I needed in order to get the next circular of funding, a certain step to keep the project moving advanced. That was the real separation point, and they’ve proven capable of doing that.
What is the terminal result of working with Catalyst UX?
We began working with Catalyst UX at smallest three years ago, probably in the leading region of 2017.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
There’s something a bit different almost Catalyst. The reason they’ve been able to influence good nation in the Bay Area—which is wonderfully competitive—is that their developers are extend all over the country. Our work with them has been web-based, and it’s worked well. Our organisation is extend between Silicon Valley and Australia, and they’ve been pliant, especially in provisions of interaction.
How did Catalyst UX accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
Paul is the project lead, and he’s very approachable and well-inclined. I can’t converse wonderfully sufficient of his professionalism and answeringness. We use Zoom and monday.com for project treatment.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with Catalyst UX?
Another component of startups is that programs change frequently, and some nation don’t do well with that and befit frustrated. We’re changing what we want a lot, and Paul has been very answering and pliant. As a startup, we need to control our cash flow, and, rather than bringing in our own software programmers, I’ve used Catalyst in a way that allows us to freeze their agility depending on the stage we’re at.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
We have only real feedback for them overall. I don’t ponder I have anything denying to say.
Do you have any advice for forthcoming clients of theirs?
We deal with medical and consumer artifices, which have very different design approaches. There needs to be a complementary set of experiences between those, which is challenging to get. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d commend Catalyst UX extremely wonderfully. I’m glad we chose them.
