Medtronic is the world',s largest medical device company, a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions. The client’s objective was to create a VR intubation immersive experience taking place in a hospital Operating Room (OR) for marketing and promotional purposes. Lucid Reality Labs developed VR simulation for HTC Vive platform using Unity engine with the following features: - Interactivity by ‘natural hand… controllers’ usage to simulate intubation with the McGrath MAC © video laryngoscope and the endotracheal tube in real-time and enable participants to apply different laryngoscope blades based on the patient’s morphology and the expected difficulty of the patient',s case. - Gamification and competition element (ranking system) implemented through the assessment of the correctness of the intubation and time spend. - App architecture allows to create a fully immersive and flexible experience capable of simulating different levels of intubation complexity and collect intubation analytics to be used in research papers and education. VR Simulation was successfully presented and received positive feedback from anesthesiologists and other medical experts during more than 30 industry conferences and events
