Please give a brief description of your organisation.
Rover is a dog boarding marketlocate. We facilitate connecting dog owners to dog sitters. We have tens of thousands of dog sitters almost the United States and, at any given time, you can go on our website and find the dog sitter near you that will sit your dog while you go out of town.
What is your role at Rover?
I’m one of the founders.
Desired goal
When you approached PugetWorks, what was the business challenge that you were trying to address?
We had done some iOS outgrowth out-of-house, managing contractors from an outsourcing website named oDesk. We were moderately lucky with the outcome there, but it took us longer than expected, and it was a pliant bit buggy, so we wanted to fetch that outgrowth back to Seattle. The cluster we were [originally] working with was based in the Ukraine. PugetWorks came wonderfully recommended, so we ultimately brought our business there. It’s ongoing expansion and livelihood of our application.
Did you have any specific business goals for the project?
They veritably are owning our complete iOS outgrowth. It’s veritably excellently a wide set of business goals we’re trying to execute with that.

Can you tell us more almost the aim of the work that they did for you?
The main thing our app is centreed on is messaging between sitters and dog owners. They built out the superiority of that messaging functionality and built out search capabilities in the app. Essentially, they both designed and implemented big chunks of the functionality of our app, for both search and messaging experiences.
What was your process for selecting PugetWorks to work with in the leading locate?
We evaluated a couple agencies, but the main criteria were that they came wonderfully recommended by somebody else who works at Rover and had worked with them in the past. It was more of a individualal referral.
Can you give us a perception of the size of the start, whichever in a cost range or individualnel work-hour aspect?
Somewhere between two and three full-time heads.
How long have they been doing this work for you?
At this point, it’s probably been almost nine months.
Was your app already launched precedently you began working with them?
Yes. We’d already launched the app, but it was very component limited. They’ve taken that and basically done a rewrite owing one of the calamitous side effects of outsourcing that leading process, where we didn’t have anybody on our side who is an expert at iOS outgrowth, is that we ended up with what might generously be termed “code soup.” They bigly rewrote what was already there. They were working with the existing app.
Results achieved
In provisions of the results of the project, can you share any metrics or feedback to show the achievement of their work?
Yes. We’ve seen something like two to three times advancement in usage. A lot of that is just the side effect of the business growing, but some of it is surely attributable to the advancements in the app over time.
How would you draw PugetWorks’ accomplishment?
We’re very satisfied with it.
Is there anything sole or particular almost them compared to other companies that you may have worked with in the past?
I ponder they’re relatively little, which resources that you get a lot of centre from them. We’ve been very lucky with them. The design work eparticularly has been very top-notch.
In provisions of things that make them rest out, they have some deep expertise that we verity haven’t used them for almost crowd-sourced scan data. One of their project directors, I believe, was an soon Amazon fruit director. But, we haven’t veritably taken gain of that to date.
Looking back on the project, is there any area that you ponder that they could better on or that you would do differently?
I ponder there are excellently a few areas, but it’s not on their side, it’s veritably on our side. We had some employee turnover where the individual who was initially managing the relationship is no longer with our organisation. In that kind of scenario, doing a better hand-off for that relationship is a precept conversant for me individualally. I don’t ponder that in any way is reflective of their accomplishment in that time, just that we should have done a better job handing off the relationship.
