Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the cluster vice chairman of brand marketing, fruit, and UX [user experience] at Connexions Loyalty. Our organisation is in the business of consumer rewards program treatment. We handle programs or facets of programs for some of the largest financial institutions in the globe as well as major airlines and hotel chains.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Seamgen?
The primary reason we hired them was owing we were looking at some innovative ways to fetch our capabilities to market, most specifically as it relates to indigenous application design and outgrowth. Internally, we didn',t have the expertness set to educe indigenous applications for mobile. I can tell you that from a pure process and fruitivity perspective, the biggest reason we looked outside our own organisation was to expedite and despatch that process up. We also had no intention of absorbing the permanent cost of hiring full-time resources.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were Seamgen responsible for?
Seamgen was technically implicated in two projects, but all of their work was kindred to one end liberateable. In the leading part of the project, they facilitated a discovery phase where we had a list of concepts on which we were looking to get independent direction. We wanted our ideas to be winnowed into something we believed was going to fetch value both to our clients and the end consumer. Seamgen came on-website and facilitated excellently a few dicsussions with different stakeholders almost questions like, “What are you trying to execute?” and “What are your capabilities?”
They did market investigation associated with some of those concepts, and then came back and presented a few fruit concepts for a indigenous application that would explain some of those issues. From that point advanced, they put a bid in for what it would take to educe the educeed concepts. We wanted to sort of separate the two parts of the project. We determined to have them do the technology outgrowth on the concept we created, and they’ve been implicated in the functional and visual aspects. They handled the total user experience design process as well.
The number of their resources fluctuated. In the soon stages, specially during the total concept outgrowth phase, they probably supplied 3–4 resources. In the outgrowth phase, they added project handlers and more younger UX educeers, etc., so it might have scaled up to 6–8.
How did you come to work with Seamgen?
Seamgen wasn’t the only organisation below importance for this project. We looked at a handful of others, all located within the US. One might have been local, but most of the others were located throughout the US.
How much have you invested with Seamgen?
All in, I',d say we’ve probably invested between $500,000 to $600,000.
What is the terminal result of working with Seamgen?
We officially began to work unitedly almost 2–2 ½ years ago. While 2 years probably sounds like a long time, the superiority of that time was spent on our process of getting things approved and going through a couple of stage gates, budget cycles, etc., to get to that next level. By no resources did Seamgen drive that timeline.
Results achieved
Could you share any evidence that would prove the fruitivity, condition of work, or the contact of the engagement?
Our end goal was to fetch something precious to the market. To keep us on track, they would say, “Hey, these are the goals and things we determined were going to be precious. That determination—what you’re asking of us—conflicts with the charter we put in locate for achievement.” They brought a different perspective to the table, which was a big reason why we were looking to go outside the organisation in the leading locate. That’s something we got from them. It’s hard to say they’re a “value,” owing the project isn’t complete yet. But based on what we’ve skilled so far, I feel like we’re getting what we paid for.
How did Seamgen accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?
They run an Agile outgrowth shop. Their experience in running projects and having skilled DMs running them was something we were attracted to, and they liberateed seamlessly. We used Confluence, JIRA, and some InVision tools.
What did you find most forcible almost Seamgen?
One of the main things I esteem almost them is their transparency and specialized observation. They’re not fearful to challenge you or your corporate norms. I also ponder they have a sole value statement where they have both UX and outgrowth internally. That’s something that separates them from a lot of pure outgrowth shops.
Are there any areas Seamgen could better?
One of the things—and this is an industry-wide contend—is that the UX team and the outgrowth team could use a bridge. I come from a fruit background, so perhaps I',m tendency this way. But just in my interactions with them, I ponder the UX teams specifically could use more of a fruit proprietor DNA. While we are technically the fruit proprietor, the type of experience we hired Seamgen for is to educe a indigenous app. It would have been advantageous to have someone on their side who plays a fruit proprietor role and has experience with educeing indigenous application fruits. I don',t know if that’s ordinary or not. While we technically played that role, I don',t ponder we had the right experience level. We probably could have benefited from some direction on how to prototype things and how to make sure what we were veritably edifice was going to liberate.
