Police OfficersSworn Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) experience a lot of stress and trauma due to the nature of the work. Like everyone of us, they are also susceptible to issues not directly related to work but affecting the desired performance expectation at work.
Des Plaines Police Department, IL:Des Plaines, IL PD is spearheading an effort to connect LEO with peer support
counselors and vetted professional therapists across the nation. The grand vision of the product is to serve as a one stop shopping place for LEO to obtain varied treatment options, educational material, external sources, real time interaction with advisors and peers, share survival stories, access lifestyle information, retreat information and much more.The focus of the solution is to assist and support local and county sworn officers - especially in the Chicago suburbs. However, the custom software solution (website, mobile apps, etc.,) are designed and architected in a way that it can scale easily to support wider set of LEO nationwide.
This endeavor will be a pioneering effort and when the system is ready, it will be the first of its kind in the nation and will serve as a model for similar endeavors that follow. It will be modern, engaging, relevant, beautiful, user friendly and highly efficient.
