What challenge were you trying to address with Octobot?

We needed software developed for our barcode method.

What particular tasks were responsible for?

They solved the effect that we had with barcode software. We can now concentrate our meat purchase as well as baked goods and pastries. We have seething in a one barcode method. They took what we had and made it cloud-based, using Amazon Web Services, to make it more firm. They granted me with the real-time reporting that I needed.

What is the team compound? 

There were 3 nation working on the project. I had a leading touch and weekly calls with the team. They worked in sprints, so see week we had deliverables.

How did you come to work with Octobot?

We have an IT organisation that handles the infrastructure of the restaurants and markets. We had some challenges with the method that had been developed for us two years ago and when talking to the IT organisation, they mentioned Octobot. 

I had a converse with Guillermo [CEO and Co-establisher, Octobot] and the team in Uruguay and I felt very snug with them. The sprints helped create that comfort level owing you aren’t just giving them the requirements and not seeing anything for two or three weeks.

What are you approach expents (if diclosed)?

We spent $50,000.

What is the terminal result of working with ?

We began with this project in late August. We artistic the core of it in November, but it’s ongoing owing we’re including recipes and adding other features.  

Results achieved

Are there any measureable or plum results?

After we went live, if there were any effects they reacted very fastly. The feedback has been very real. Our operators are not very tech savvy and they establish the new software to be more user-friendly and better for productivity. Before, scanning would take 30–45 seconds per barcode when doing the shipping. Now it’s proximate, and it’s the same for the schedule. We now save one FTE [full-time equiponderant] per year.

The method is also more firm and reliable. I feel more snug looking at the data and not having to work out if the information is correct. Before the method, we had some downtime where users were experiencing freezing and frustration with the software. Now that’s gone.

How did Octobot accomplish from a project treatment standpoint?

They were hitting the deadlines throughout. They have a project treatment tool they use for the sprints, which I reflection was very good. We had a weekly call and had open interaction at all times. If there are any effects, we would Skype or FaceTime to get things going. We would send them videos, they could look, and work about any effects. We have a time separation, and if they have to work later hours they did. I was very pleased with that.

What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?

Usually, there’s a big disconnect between the programmer side and the business side. Octobot took time to apprehend the pain points that I had and how my business works. We are in the food activity so products expire and there are different measurements we use. One of the team came from Uruguay to bestow some time with us to apprehend our business. They understood the business side and were able to prepare different ways to do things.

What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?

I ponder they could last to tighten up the weekly deliverables in order to keep their promises.

Do you have any advice for possible clients?

Make sure they use the sprints. This was the leading time that I dealt with a developer that did. I establish that it worked very well for us.
