Some details
Owned by Nerdy Banana, Supersocks print and sell a unique range of personalised garments to consumers and were due to appear in Selfridges. With this deadline set, they approached Shoothill challenging us to develop a system which would allow the customised socks to be sold in a live retail environment.
In the short timescale, we built all the software
required to run touchscreen point-of-sale kiosks, allowing customers to provide and edit their own photos, and using a Shopify integration to process payments.
In a world first application of artificial intelligence, we used machine learning techniques to train the software to isolate and crop the faces of people and pets in these photographs, ready to be wrapped and printed to a sock template on site.
The system was fast, efficient, and provided consumers an enjoyable and memorable experience. Supersocks met a lot of success selling their products through our software, and are in continued business with us, looking for further innovative applications of emergent technology.
