GOAL: Allow thermal engineers working for NASA and other technical staff to run numerical simulations without being confined to desktop applications.
IMPLEMENTING AN EFFICIENT PROCESS: To approve any changes to the design, the plan must be sent to the thermal engineer. Then the engineer must update the model and run simulations to evaluate impact on performance. They needed a more
cohesive process.TECH-SUPPORTED ANALYSIS: Features built into the app include rapid, web-based thermal system evaluation tools, high-resolution spacecraft modeling—from component to bus level and thermal optimization algorithms. Now users can produce and analyze meaningful results from anywhere with an Internet connection. Engineers can also use the tool to chart and compare the sensitivities of various output parameters.
