Introductory information
A fast induction on the buyer’s organisation
I’m the VP of Communications and Engagement with the Alliance for the Great Lakes. We’re a Chicago-based nonprofit environmental structure whose commission is to defend and defend the Great Lakes.
Desired goal
What challenge were you trying to address with Mightybytes?
We needed a complete cool of our digital nearness. Our website was old and not mobile-friendly, and the full was outdated. We needed a website that was sustainable for a pliant nonprofit with nontechnical staff.
Provided solution
What particular tasks were responsible for?
They developed a customized, user-friendly WordPress website for us. They host the website and handle ongoing livelihood for updates or security issues. They’ve also helped us add technical features that weren’t included in the primary design.
Prior to the RFP process, we had done some hearers investigation on our own, including centre groups, to ponder almost the structure’s overall interaction strategy. We granted that information to Mightybytes and worked on the strategy with them, fetching in their digital expertise. We had specific goals almost the hearerss we wanted to extend and the actions we wanted those hearerss to take. They helped us regood these interactions to mark the website’s strategy and goals.
They walked us through processes to ponder almost the design elements, the full handlement method, the platform, and hosting. We granted the vast superiority of full for the new website but they ultimately designed and built it for us.
They taught us how to use the website effectively. We did a couple of workshops with them almost writing for the web and developing full outgrowth processes for our website. They’re now working on some digital marketing and helping us do an SEO audit. They’ll help us instrument that work so we can appear higher in search rankings.
Was there a dedicated team?
We worked with four or five nation. Our main touch was the project handler. We worked with someone else on strategy and two technical nation on each full strategy and outgrowth and edifice the website. The Principal at Mightybytes was implicated in some of the strategy sessions during the project’s kickoff.
How did you come to work with Mightybytes?
We extended out to companies—including Mightybytes—to request responses to our RFP. We accepted almost 10 responses and narrowed to three firms that we interviewed. After a vetting process, we selected Mightybytes.
Throughout the RFP process, we felt like we were on the same page with them. We knew the organisation a pliant precedentlyhand and were snug with them. As a B Corp, they work with nonprofits and collectively-minded structures. They knew our space and could apprehend where we were coming from. Their closest rival didn’t have the nonprofit experience that Mightybytes did. I spoke with references who talked almost their pellucid processes, which was another big reason we picked them. They were a good fit for us.
What are you access expents (if diclosed)?
We runningly have two separate contracts with them, one for website livelihood and hosting and one for support with additional projects. We’ve spent $50,000–$100,000 between that and the website revamp.
What is the terminal result of working with ?
We began working with them in April 2016 and it’s ongoing.
Results achieved
Are there any measureable or plum results?
The website has revolutionized our digital marketing. We’re now able to be more creative—especially with our collective media marketing—owing we push nation back to a answering, attractive, and interesting website. It is a key part of our power to fetch new supporters into our structure and into the Great Lakes issues we work on.
How did Mightybytes accomplish from a project handlement standpoint?
As project lead, it was always clear what they were working on and where we stood on our budget and timeline. I had clear options and felt snug making decisions that could have contacted timeline or budget owing I knew the total picture. They worked hard to make us feel like we were in control of those key decisions, especially almost the budget which is something we don’t have a lot of flexibility on as a nonprofit.
They’re answering and pellucid whether on space or cost issues, while at the same time being ingenuous almost what is or isn’t possible. It’s always clear in advance if things will shift in provisions of timelines, budget, or other project components. We made decisions unitedly, as opposed to consultants coming in. It felt like we were partners, especially on the website revamp and now with the ongoing support work. Their team is big to work with.
Our leading project handler was astounding at care us up-to-date on the project and flagging possible issues that might contact timeline or budget. Over the past two years, we transitioned to a new project handler who is just as big as the leading. They have a track archives of hiring nation who mesh with their organisation’s philosophy and access to client engagement.
What is (from your point of view) the key factor to pay observation while intercourse with ?
They’re a B Corp—and they veritably believe in and fulfill the air of being one. They “walk the talk” in provisions of sustainpower and how they handle their employees, which is significant to us as a nonprofit.
They ask their clients to customary events or workshops where they share new learning. This has been a big way for us to swell our apprehension and experiences as well as network with others grappling with correspondent digital marketing and strategy questions. It’s an added boon that Mighybytes makes an effort to prepare to the aggregation that has been profitable to us.
They’ve also gotten to know us very well as an structure. Knowing that we’re a nonprofit, they’re careful in helping us unite opportunities or nation to connect with that might help us. They go over and over to make sure that our website is functioning. They veritably care almost us as an structure, which resources a lot to us.
What aspects of their work would you like to get improved?
Not that I can ponder of. They were open and upfront almost the staff changes that were going to befall, which was hugely helpful in a scenario that could have been a pliant nerve-wracking. Their running staff seems veritably lucky and firm.
Do you have any advice for possible clients?
We did a lot of work precedently putting out an RFP. We were clear almost our project goals. We did the same precedently we entered into the support retainer with them in order to be clear almost what we wanted. That helped us transact the contract and clarify the boundaries of our work with both the primary website revamp and the ongoing support. It also gave them the occasion to prepare us with feedback on what they could and couldn’t do within our budget and timeframes.
